These samples are very cool. The song seems to be more focused on rhythm than it is on melodies, which is how a TIA song should be considering the TIA's frequency table being unsuited for music.

Wow, this sounds super rich for the TIA, it sounds almost impossible. Edit: Someone needs to visualize this tune in oscilloscope format.

I went to the nightclub most Thursdays because it was less crowded and I typically had Fridays off.

didn't even know the Tia could handle samples. I suppose it makes sense given it uses pulse waves, but it's still weird hearing samples next to the Atari's signature doots

I didn't think there would be processor time left over to drive a display. Sounds like the processor is slaved to the TIA & hammer the sound channels as hard as it can.

It's actually pretty close to a normal 60hz music engine, just with a little segment that squeezes in a DPCM update every 2 scanlines. Driving a really simplistic visualizer like this isn't actually that bad, it's mostly when you want graphics that actually look like something, or sprites that move. Updated the video description with a link to the source if you want to check it out.

is this a cover/remix or inspired by something? it makes me think of another song but can't remember which one.
@CommodoreKulor5 жыл бұрын
It was inspired by the generic club music that plays at a local budget revolving sushi bar. I'm sure there are probably a handful of tunes that almost sound identical.
