@Tom the bus stops are no longer offset to ensure the busses remain ahead of the traffic rather than getting further and further behind in traffic. It's 100% designed to make bus travel faster and prioritise public transport.

I was always amazed at the air quality warning by Heathrow on the M4, I used to think how rediculous, however just last week I learned that the warning is not " switched on " by some person in a control room, it is automatically turned on by an air quality detector, basically I guess it will probably be on 90% of the times I drive past !

@@TomtheTaxiDriver I had to do a motorway speed awareness course online last week ( different to a "normal" speed awareness course ) and we were discussing " smart motorways " and I mentioned the warnings by Heathrow and the instructor guy was telling us all that they were automated, also when you are on the motorway and you see a speed limit overhead to slow you all down for a while and then amazingly it clears and you think why on earth was that warning put up he said it is triggered automatically by road sensors if there is a build up of very slow traffic , say 4 miles ahead, then the warning is meant to slow everyone down for a few miles so that it helps the build up to clear so that hopefully by the time we reach that point traffic flow is more or less back to normal. I actually found the course very interesting.

Feel sorry for other bus/ cab drivers whenever I have a passenger asking me questions, or not knowing how paying for a bus in London works. As a transit enthusiast, I completely agree with you on the bus topic. I never understood why in Britain, almost every bus only has one door to get in. In most European cities, buses have 2, 3, 4 or even 5 doors. In places with contactless or check-in systems in place, there are card readers installed on every door. The British system seems really inefficient to me.

Just found your channel. I’ve a question. I use London taxis a fair bit but I’m in a small active wheelchair. The signs always say I could have my back to the back of the driver but even with my small chair that would be a really hard thing to do so always stay sideways on as I’ve gone in straight and then reverse out. Do any wheelchair users turn the 90° round to have their back to the drivers back? Also do taxi drivers who have the old smaller taxis with the smaller wheelchair ramps mind wheelchair users not using them and waiting for the larger electric taxis that have the much longer ramp? I don’t feel safe using those short old ramps, but always feel bad.

Over here where I live, cabs would go round in circles if you don't know exactly how to get where you're going to bump the fare up.
