If the police wouldn't have forced a mildly-mentally handicapped Jessie into a confession, this wouldn't have even gotten to court to begin with. The only evidence the police had was Jessie saying they did it. He just didn't have the mental capacity to realize the ramifications to giving a false confession.

The reason is about 60 million dollars that can be sought in compensation if they are exonerated. The fact is even if dna testing found them guilty they cannot be punished further as they were released on the basis that their sentenced was reduced to 18 years. And they served that sentence already. So they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Two of them have profited hugely by becoming celebrities. The one who confessed multiple times has become reclusive and guilt ridden.
@jemrawc
@jemrawc Жыл бұрын
My guess is that the new evidence was denied testing because it would point to the actual perpetrator(s) and completely clear the 3 boys. If/when that happens the state will then need to pay out a lot of money. Money each of the wrongly convicted deserves, further legal and court fees to try the actual killer(s) plus many more trials and inquiries into the “mishandling” of the case, including every person from the police to the prosecution and everyone in between. It will also prove to possibly very last few Americans that their judicial system is utterly broken and corrupt. After saying that, I have always been 100% behind and in support of the West Memphis Three. Wish there was a way that I could help with this seemingly impossible situation. If there is a way please comment. ❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦

Terry Hobbs and David Jacoby did this. There is witness testimony from two teenage boys who signed a declaration that Terry and David did this and they were there when it happened. @baileymoran8585
@baileymoran8585 Жыл бұрын
@@HankBukowskiI have done research. All I find was proof that they were three edge lord teenagers with dysfunctional home lives and some psych issues. High schools have been full of teenagers like this. The vast majority of them never commit a crime worse than drug charges, vandalism, or petty theft. The very small percentage who kill, don’t pull off such a sophisticated and extremely violent murder like this. The killer didn’t do it because of anger, or revenge, or because they felt as if they had to do it to protect themselves in some way. This was a murder that the killer enjoyed in some sick way, and it’s highly unlikely that they jumped from petty crime to such a sadistic murder like that. This killer had probably caused extreme harm before. The three teenagers involved were less likely than someone who had a history of violence towards small children or smaller people. I’m not talking about normal high school fights. That is an expected level of violence that is easily outgrown when you become mature enough to handle emotions like an adult. Authorities should have looked at any with a record or probable history of child abuse. There was nothing that placed them definitively at the crime scene, either. This is true for all proposed suspects since then. Also, given the nature of these crimes, it’s highly unlikely that all three of these men would have done something like this as teens and never resorted to similarly sadistic acts in the years they have been out. It’s been over a decade. That’s a long time for a particularly sadistic psychopath to go without indulging their impulse to hurt others. Yes, I know there have been very rare cases of teenagers doing things like torturing someone to death with no motive other than wanting to do it, but statistically these crimes are much more likely to be committed by an adult with a history of increasingly violent acts against people who can’t fight back. Not everyone who’s gotten busted for vandalism, or has a history of psych issues, is a murderer, even if they listened to metal and liked horror movies. Nor is every edge lord actually remotely dangerous. That describes many people in their teens. These young men would have hit their mid 20s and looked back and thought ‘oh wow, I was an embarrassing kid’ like most adults if they had not gone to prison for something they didn’t do.

I had seen the entire 3-part HBO documentary twice in the past and watched it again last night. It all still makes my jaw drop. One would like to think that the justice system is about justice, but too often, it is not. Too often, as in this case, It is about refusing to take responsibility for the the inadequacies of the investigation and rushing to judgment with no physical evidence whatsoever in order to close the case and make everyone think it was solved. This included interrogating (badgering) a mentally-challenged suspect for 12 straight hours, telling him what he and his two friends did, and then turning on the recorder when he finally "confesses," just to get the hell out of there. It also included ignoring the illegal actions of the jury foreman and attempting to hide the case file for years. No matter that 3 innocent young men spent years in prison. Equally abhorrent is that the monster who did this went free without city and state investigators looking for him. Makes me furious and makes me ill.

This podcast is basically one big lie. There's no evidence that their bodies were moved to the scene; quite the opposite. There had been an immense amount of blood at the scene that the WM3 had taken time to splash off. One searcher even smelled blood as he approached the scene. And among other things, Echols didn't live "eight miles" from the crime scene, and he wasn't specifically "targeted" because of his appearance. Many, many people were investigated and brought in for questioning. The WM3 were the only ones who didn't have an alibi that could be checked out, and they changed their alibis when they saw that their first ones weren't working. Baldwin now claims that he was at some kid's house buying a music tape with the money he'd earned from mowing his uncle's lawn. He even remembers the name of the band. It took him 30 years to "remember" this, and yet he never asks for this kid to come forward and verify his bogus alibi. Baldwin is just a big old liar.

Jessie really wasn't able to give a good resignation, those of you who claim that his IQ is ok, then no, it will put even an academic worker under such a burden (12 hours of constant pressure). Both the prosecution and defense attorneys did a terrible job (both evidence and witnesses). On May 10th, 5 days after the murders, Echols spoke to investigators, describing the murders as a “thrill kill”. He also offered that the the murders were part of the killer wanting “more power” from killing such young children. He also told investigators that the “killer probably felt good doing it” and he “probably thinks it’s funny” and “doesn’t care if he gets caught”. He volunteered that the “boys were not that big and easy to control” and that the “killer was local and knew the kids went out there. Damien had described himself as sociopathic and homicidal in a recent Psychiatric hospitalization. Damien had told a friend before the murders that he wondered what it would be like to kill someone. He was devoted to Aleister Crowley, who taught on acquiring power through child sacrifice. Damien had already been killing and mutilating animals and was ready for the next step. Pretty much EVERY kid who knew him knew he was a Satan worshiper. NO SATANIC PANIC...he really was one. Later, he mockingly laughed at the families of the victims. People who believe in his innocence are simply non-fully researched and dishonor those three victims. Damien also spoke about wondering what it would be like to kill someone. He even told L.G. Hollingsworth just prior to the murders, “I’m thinking of killing someone.” Confessed to Ken Watkins and bragged about the killings at the softball game. Back then, he REALLY WAS demonic, part of a Satanic Cult, Homicidal, on and off his Imipramine, 3 times Psychiatrically hospitalized. He was a severely DISTURBED and mentally ill young man filled with rage and a desire to attain favor and power with his Master. And child sacrifice of was a way for him to get it….in HIS PSYCHOTIC mind.

Does anyone know what happened after Hobbs called for the boys to come home? After he was walking towards them ?!? I’m confused. Did they just not return home? A crime like this had to take time and how does 1 person dump 3 bodies into those woods without being seen or not leaving evidence this was not a crime done by and amateur by any means.

You should watch West of Memphis, or even the documentary made by Bob Ruff. The crime scene wasn't sophisticated. The murders could easily have been done by one adult. There were no witnesses because the police didn't bother interviewing the residents of a nearby apartment building. They decided who the killers were and didn't bother looking elsewhere.

These boys bragged that they committed this crime to multiple people, they were found guilty by 2 different juries, they admitted that there was enough evidence to likely convict them again in a retrial and confessed once again to this crime by taking the Alford plea and didn't want to prove their innocence in court...Guilty Guilty Guilty. They are as guilty as hell, I see Jessie the squealer didn't make a show, I bet Dan (I'll believe Jessie's confession if we find the smash Evan Williams bottle) Stidham was begging Jessie not to turn up just in case he felt like confessing for the 29th time.

No cars, no blood at crime scene, lived over 8 miles away. Start investigation over - start w/ interviewing the juvenile director guy who claimed "this must be the work of Damion". Good God - a statement by a random person without any evidence (at best without knowledge; unless involved in the crime himself) lead to a witch hunt and false imorisonment. Heart broken for the man who's not understanding the totality of what's going on. He's angry because (this decision) means "no one is seeking justice in this case". Not true. Now the case is unsolved. And, open. There was NEVER going to be justice with 3 innocent other persons in prison for a crime they didn't commit. Not only do the parents deserve justice for their sons' deaths, but also 3 men want justice for the 30 years they spent behind bars for another person's crime. If the suspect is caught before their own demise perhaps there are other charges that can be brought because of what he's done to these men and their families as well. A minimum of 6 families destroyed. Did the suspect move and continue on? Or, stay put and stop his evilness. The kidnapping of 3 boys didnt draw attention. Perhaps they knew the suspect. Did he offer a ride? If not the juvenile detention guy what about a coach or someone's dad from the area or the local church member (or a cop)? Icecream / Snowcone driver? My understanding is one kid would not have gone quietly ... so who would they trust or believe?

Anyone who would commit such brutal murders like these must have murdered before. After all, it wasn't one murder, it was 3, over and over again. This person(s) was used to violent crime. So, I wonder if the murders were similar to any others in the state or nearby states, and were there any suspicious newcomers or convicted criminals in the area. Also, regarding the black person in the restroom, he might have been guilty, or he might have just witnessed it as someone passing through or living in the woods at the time. Or he might have stumbled upon the site. With so much violence in the area, there must have been something left behind, especially if there were three people involved - or not. OF course, possible police corruption or incompetency doesn't help any. Was the FBI called in at any point?
