Because Saint's character + his parents have a higher rank in royalty than Grandma/Sam's family...that's what finally making the grandma assured. Her grandma was like most Asian parents care about social status, reputation, reality and risk (same sex marriage is still not legalised in Thailand) so much. She moved after realising Sam may die or even commit suicide...since Sam is her "favourite", she eventually decided Sam's life is more important than her plan...she still couldn't understand, but it's important for her to get assurance from higher rank royal family to tell her same sex love or even marriage is OK. That's it. I also think there's a huge plot hole that can be done better. But you have to think all of this in the context of Asian/Thailand society.

The real plop hole for me was Mon no talking ever about their relationship with her parents. I know they always would be supportive with whatever Mon wants, but I think we must had a conversation between Mon and her parents, even before when she stay for so many days living with Sam. The grandma plop I don't feel is from nowhere, Kirk was less selfish and talked to her and she, by herself saw the sadness on her granddaughter, I think that could change her mind. About Kirk, he loved Sam, he and the grandma didn't believe that her love for Mon was something real and they thought she would get through it easily, but they saw that she wasn't. However I understand you because one of her granddaughters die and she should change at that moment.

In book, there's a chapter when Mon comes out to her parents and tell them that she is dating Khun Sam Mon's mom is a little upset, not because she's homophobic but because she thinks that things would be hard for Mon Then in another chapter written that's after three years time jump in MonSam's lives, Mon's parents adore and support Khun Sam more than they support Mon😂They are like "If Khun Sam is upset, you must have done something", "Khun Sam this, Khun Sam that" LOL It's adorable how they support both girls, and it's more adorable that they take Khun Sam's side when both girls argue😂 It's cutest thing to read how they love Mon's partner They are amazing parents

@@juanangel9093 claro, pero digo que me hizo falta ver esa conversación en la serie, en la cual seguramente lo hubiesen cambiado a que a los padres lo aceptaran completamente desde el inicio. Pero se siente como un vacío de guión porque es una parte fundamental en la historia, ya que son los padres de Mon. Del libro se muchas cosas por videos que veía donde lo leían, aunque a mi nunca me interesó leerlo realmente porque tiene cosas que no me gustan y que me alegra que las cambiaran en la serie.

@34:20 In the risk of getting you more annoyed (haha), I think the difference is that Sam actually CHOSE to stay despite their differences because she genuinely loved her grandma. It was never shown to us if Neung and/or Song have tried to talk to their grandma how Sam tried to talk to her to make her understand. In my opinion, the difference is that the grandma genuinely believed that Sam loves her and that Sam really did everything to make her happy(not just through words, but through action); so, she got to experience Sam's suffering unlike the other two sisters who chose to leave her. Personally, I would have left too. I'm not a selfless individual lol I guess the trade-off really is that you can't change people's minds when you've decided to leave them because at that point, you've already decided that you have given up on them. Also, the time jump before the wedding was never specified--could be 5 years or 10 years for all we know haha I think that was intentional, to emphasize that there are alot of things that happened in between (unless I'm mistaken about the time jump).

Your frustration is understandable. I, too, was frustrated with the weakness of Sam. But the wealth and Sam's enability to act were not the answer. If the Grandmother had died Sam would have blamed herself and that would have, most likely, destroyed her relationship with Mon. Sam, in her state of mind, could not have left her Grandmother, either. She couldn't escape her personal prison even knowing her own weakness. Her suffering was necessary to breakdown the barriers others had placed in her way. If they loved her they would free her by choice from the responsibilities that she had taken upon herself. Fortunately, that took place and relationships were persevered and improved. Great outcomes for those involved and us, Fans! Loved the whole GAP, the series.

Just a correction: SAM WASNT WEAK! She chose Mon in episode 11! And she doesnt have a healthy context like Mon did. She was raised without her parents, her grandma suffocated her and her only sister abandoned her. She doesn't have a voice and was alone, she did not feel comfortable even with her friends (in episode 4 she says that her friends were laughing at her). I grew up in a conservative family and I'll tell you: she was strong as hell!

I remember that you didn't like Sam in your RV in the past episodes. You were dissing at her for being mean and not apologizing at all to Mon.🤣🤣🤣 What a journey and development her character went through. But I think Mon had no choice but to be passive because she didn't want to compromise everyone. She didn't want to make it more difficult for Sam and she's afraid that the Grandma will possibly die if she pushed through the situation and make Sam feel more guilty and miserable. She's so selfless and has a pure heart which is rare nowadays. One of the many reasons why Sam loves her so much. As for the Grandma who suddenly had a change of heart, I also thought that it didn't make sense. But I think there's so many factors that contributed on why she finally allowed Sam to do what she truly desire. First, Sam is her favorite grandchild. Second, she got a trauma from Song's death. Third, the confrontation with Neung in episode 11 affected her so much. Neung really slapped her with facts that she'd been denying for years. Fourth, seeing Sam being miserable for months. All these factors combined allowed her to open her mind at last. It took her months though so I still don't like her at all. What a slow brain. 😅😅😅 She made Sam suffer for a long time. So nope! Kirk was the worst though. He was delusional and gaslighting Sam for years of being engaged. He's aware she doesn't love him and yet, he.....ugghhhhh. Disgusting. Anyway, I was laughing so much when you were so mad at Kirk and the Grandma. I'm always looking forward to your RV. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

On the other hand i very understand Khun Sam situation & responsibilities toward family. We asian very care about our status, dignity like something we must protect with our own life. This series shows one of the very lucky person in Asian house family been accepted only after Lady Grandma saw her granddaughter might die for real. This time she chose her life over dignity & try to understand Khun Sam by look into positive side from other perspective. Khun Sam a very woman who be able to love & married to the love of her life. In fact real life our Asian point of view this thing almost impossible to happen 😭. This series give us hope that our next parents & family asian generation understand about this kind of love.

The biggest problem with the novel as well is that they never show Mon's parents knowing about her relationship with Sam and about accepting it. Like it was never mentioned in aline as well that they knew and accepted! But as an Asian Drama this was very good to be honest as a start.. and somehow I think the Grandma was like every other elder in the society, it's common.. so it didn't seem too much for me. In fact I am happy that she accepted it finally unlike many.. Kirk is like any other man loving a woman from a long time and never letting go even though it's impossible to have her!!! So.. yeah and again it is a drama series Also people belonging to this generation as well do not accept homosexual relationships.. they are just not used to it or never think that it is okay..some people just name it as western acquired taste.. believe me or not I have heard people saying that it is just a confusion!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that the series was kinda rushed. The teaser and trailer gave me high hopes but then when the series came out I was looking for more backstory and character developments and they weren't there. Really disappointed on how the series went on after the first few eps. The script + directing + specially the unsymmetrical camera shots and blurry lights are not for me. Hope they will work with Show Me Love's (Englot) director - as I watched the behind the scenes of the Ep 1, he seemed to be very detail oriented and hands on with directing, and so far the script is good.

Yeah everyone feel that there's a plot hole, we need one more episode i think before ended it. This episode feel rushed,it should show when Sam talk to Mon's parents and show more Sammon moments when they're happy together, we need more their lovey dovey moments. Yeah I'm feeling like that too, actually what make this series booming is because freenbecky chemistry, not because the story' side. Muy buena tú reacción, ne encanta, y las otras también, se que el final a mi manera de ver fue apresurado (seria tal vez por lo poco de $ que tenían y la pérdida de patrocinadores). Me encantó el personaje de Mon tuvo muchos matices lo único que no me gustó fue que en algunos episodios fue sumisa a diferencia del libro. Recalcar que nunca vimos que los padres de Mon supieran de la relación de su hija con Sam. Parte de inflexión fue el empujón que le dio Nop a Mon para que se diera cuenta de que sentía algo más que admiración por su jefa. El apoyo que las amigas de Sam le dieron a Mon pues vieron que era una buena chica y lo complicado que la tenía con Sam. Sam siempre respeto y amaba mucho a su abuela pues la admiraba por que se hizo cargo de ellas desde que murieron sus padres. Admiro la valentía de Mon por enfrentar a Sam en la prueba de fotos de boda, fue clara y consisa. A mi manera de ver hubiera dejado que Mon se fuera a Inglaterra y pasará el tiempo, no se lo hubiera puesto fácil. Lo que si me dio risa fue el carro Duanpen de no paso mucho tiempo para que diera con ellas. En fin faltaron muchas cosas por aclarar. About the grandma changing her mind, i think it is better if they follow really what happened in the novel so the grandma changing her mind overnight can make sense. in the novel kirk attempted to take advantage of Sam,, he even destroyed her clothes something like that then the grandma noticed this also sam is crying when she went home but didnt tell gransma. so the next day grandma called kirk and sam and slap the hell out of kirk 2-3 times i think in front of sam. then she decides that there will be no wedding cause kirk disrespected sam then grandma ask of sam to just not date publicly and not marry if its not a guy HAHA

But in the series she doesnt changed her mind overnight . She spent MONTHS seeing Sam depressed, without eating, crying. During the fight with Neung, if you pay attention in her expressions, she´s reflecting on what Neung said, but she was angry for being confronted. When Neung appeared, she wasn't angry but surprised, as if she had been missing her. And do you saw that she never took Neung's pictures from the room? She loves her grandaughters and it has clearly hurt her to lose them.

I agree Sam's friends could have helped her.. but what can they do if Sam herself choose Grandma.. they all know and knew , she is going to choose Grandma even though it hurts.. and she did choose her every time.. nobody can do anything if someone chooses something.. As friends of Sam, they also need to support Sam otherwise Sam would never be in peace too.. in these kind of cases people choose to leave it and choose one side and get over with the torture of being hanging in between.. people either choose family or love.. people who are close to their family and love them no matter what will choose family because they can't bear something harming happening to them because of their choice of love.. while some people choose love because they think it is right and so they go ahead with it.. it depends.. I have seen people doing these . As an Indian I can say this that this would be a general situation.. many people even hide their love forever and forget and without any confrontation choose their family because they think family would not accept.. facts!

I desagree about the grandma, it tooked months to that evil lady change her mind. And 3 months after she was still no fully ok with Monsam, Saint had to convince her. But I agree with hating Kirk, he´s a kid, weak and annoyng. And Mon really stopped in time from the moment they had they first problem after start dating. All the boldness she had in the beginning dissapeared. She was afraid not only about grandma opinion but everyone. WTH? And she has a healthy context. Supportive parents, friends, she lived for a while in England (that is a more openminded country). I dont get what happened to her.

Mon was born in England (her father is British) but raised in Thailand at a young age. Her mother divorced her father. Mon grew up with Thailand's custom. Mon told Sam the first time she slept at Sam's house. (By the pool)

i feel the same with mon. i wish she went to england in the end. hated sam for not choosing her over grandma. build a career in england and get better and rich then go back to thailand successful and powerful. then meet sam with angst or whatever drama it creates coming back home. this will make the story more interesting and mon having a character development where she does not put her emotions first. she's wiser and smart. a competition with Sam's business. but these are just my wishes lol the book or plot is poorly written i guess. but the freenbecky's overflowing chemistry is what made GAP successful.

Wait, her grandma wasnt her first option, in episode 11 Mos was the chosen one! The thing is that she loved the evil granny and the old lady was about to die. Is something that any person would do for a loved one. It was LITERALLY a death situation.

they changed the ending it's annoying, they changed the good parts,they made kirk look nice in this ending.,in the novel, kirk's true color will come out, so grandma herself will cancel the wedding, I hope they didn't change that to make grandma's change more believable,

In novel Kirk S_xually Abused Sam when they had an argument while sitting in his car She came back home with ruined clothes and Grandma saw it THAT'S what made her change her mind If show followed the book, it would have made more sense because you are right, everyone suddenly changing their minds doesn't make any sense

You need to read the novel, and you will find why grandma changed her mind, not without reason, in the novel krik made a big mistake and grandma knew that and saw that krik was not a good person, the director might cut the story a bit, to leave a good impression on actor in the eyes of the audience. #thanks i enjoy rewatch this series with you,because you so expressive

Maybe cause the episode was too short but they were Sam’s friends first and they know all the pressure she’s under. so many things about this episode seems confusing and rushed, no matter how much they want to make it a happy ending for them both. even myself who has read the novel with the changes the director made to the episode, a lot of things could've been made better. the sudden change in grandma and kirk. poor dialogue for 3/4 of the episode. can't literally buy into this constant time jump to emphasise change in character development. you need scenes to show it. all that build up through the initial episodes and suddenly this. quite disappointing tbh. still, take nothing away from the happy ending but sorry to say the final episode was not a good one.
