Here's the thing - ultimately, only the band knows the full context of why CJ was fired and why it was handled the way that it was. In most cases, bands aren't full of evil people looking to screw over their frontman "for the lulz", and as we can see from all the hate they are receiving, it's unlikely that TAIM made this decision lightly. They knew they'd receive a metric ton of shit for it, and yet chose to fire him anyway. That, to me, means they had good reason to do so. Otherwise, all this drama and backlash wouldn't be worth the trouble and they would've just kept him on. You guys can turn this into a rhetoric if you want, "ERMERGHERD, THY ART WENT WOKE. GO WOKE GO BROKE, HUR DUR DUR DUR", but it is the band's right to act in their best interest. CJ went political, and that's never a good look for a business. And the music industry is a business. There's no room for sentimentality or any of that shit, they need to act accordingly when their frontman starts encouraging hate and trying to hold the entire band hostage, which is my current understanding of his wrongs. That shit does not fly. It doesn't matter how much you like CJ, he fucked around and now he is finding out. That's the way the business world works. Simplify it to "woke" all you want, but it doesn't change that this is the way things have ALWAYS been, long before terms like "woke" even existed. I don't have a ton of loyalty for TAIM, they're a decent band in my opinion, but I don't worship the ground they walk on. I'm mainly saying all this because I hate the smell of bullshit, and these arguments about them being 'woke' reek of just that.

This band is ruined for me. It just is. I would listen to the live concerts, and hear CJ say that he needs a ciggy or some shit like that, and he really was the character of this band. I grew a bond with CJ's presence, and now this band is just not the same. It does not feel like the cool Australian deathcore band anymore. The live concert recordings used to keep me going during late nights studying for my engineering degree, and now those same recordings just feel weird. In the same way that you want us to accept that we don't know what happened behind closed doors, you need to accept that CJ was the face of your band, and we can't deny the empty feeling that has been created. RIP.

I unfortunately can’t shake the view. You will always be known, even years after the whole musical journey, you will be remembered as label dogs, and the way we as Aussies mean dogs. But who am I? I’m a no one. Same with slipknot and the way they’ve handled things. I understand we get older. I understand the uncertainty of the world also. I understand musical maturity as a producer and multi instrumentalist and growing through years of mastering your craft and creative endeavours. But one of the brothers that helped build what you are is no longer a brother. On a stage where many eyes watch, it’s impossible to win. But nevertheless, we’re all capable of sifting information ourselves, especially with computers in our hands 24/7. And the summary of info unfortunately puts you in a very distrusting and fake position. It's mainly the "how" not so much the "why" this happened. Not agreeing with someone's point of view is fine, but canceling CJ the way they did is appalling and disgusting. They lost my respect ( as a band and as individuals) forever.

They should have warned him and they shouldn't have given an explanation to the audience, they have their reasons and it's fucking okay, but they can't ask the audience to support the harsh move of letting CJ discover he's been fired the day the album is released, letting him discover his work impersonated by a copycat at midnight, on Spotify. Let that sink in. How problematic CJ could have been, their move is so violent, it's almost impossible to back up the band. It's like answering to a slap by burning your opponent with a flamethrower.

Im more mad how they let Cj go than the reasoning since there's always an unseen side of a story we don't see. It was very unprofessional and now they cut him out of his work is just more childish. Should've released a music video with the new vocalist not a video you made with Cj and proceed to drop it with him cut out of it, Its pretty fucked up. They're pretty much children.
