0:06 The tab shows that 5 -7 harmonic as a half step bend, but he's alternate picking it? It sounds exactly right how hes playing it. I must just be reading the tab wrong?

Hi! If you check it closer you can see that the quarter note has two little lines crossing it diagonally. It is the tremolo picking notation. It means that you actually play 16th (two lines), or 8th (one line). Since it also has a bend, you should do both bending and tremolo picking at the same time. I could have written 16th notes of the tremolo individually, but that way is more compact. Hope I solved your question!
