I think this video clearly speaks volumes on Korea's version's biggest mistake for me. I know that all versions are unique in their own way and every cast was perfect in the role (each of their era was remarkable) but it's always in the plot and development that had me sometimes irritated in the other versions particularly Boys Over Flowers. I did enjoy the series (BOF) when I watched it but I hated how they wasted Lee Min Ho there and gave the spotlight to Ji Hoo. This makes me want to rant everytime I remember it. Rui/Lei/JiHoo/Ren will always be a special character to me but he's originally not Makino's soulmate, Tsukasa is and it's a bummer they changed and wasted a good story because of it. Kdramas often put too much 2nd lead syndrome that it hurts the plot and development for the main couple (in this case, Jandi and Junpyo and their relationship was the least developed one) and the male lead (Lee Min Ho despite being the perfect cast was wasted and never had the development his other versions had) as well as making the female lead inconsiderate and oblivious to the 2nd lead (Jandi relied on Ji hoo so much more than Junpyo, they even had more screentime together but she never cared for Ji Hoo's sacrifices when we see that in other versions, it was different. Shancai/Makino/Gorya fell for Asi/Tsukasa/Thyme because she saw his sacrifices and efforts to change in order to deserve her despite falling in love with someone else at first). Not too mention, they tortured Ji hoo's beautiful soul becasue the higher he flew, the more painful it was when he landed without aynone catching {I headcanon that he ended up with Jae Kyung (Lita's Korean version) tho, even if I don't ship Ren and Lita😅}. I love KHJ but Lee Min Ho deserved better. Imagine if the man titled "King of Asian Novelas" had a decent script like Jerry Yan (Taiwan), Matsumoto Jun (Japan), Dylan Wang (China) and especially Bright's. On the other hand, Ji Hoo and Jandi felt forced in the series because they're pushing so much to it that it didn't appeal anymore. Ren and Gorya felt even more natural even with little screentime compared to the other versions because they didn't they didn't try hard to change a beautiful friendship to something more angtsy than it was intentionally (heck, they didn't even had that on-screen kiss or that violin and piano scene even if I'd love to see a musical scene). F4 Thailand correcting the mistakes of Boys Over Flowers and showing as again, this time in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY (even if I thought no one would beat Taiwan's version before watching) in addition to shortening the series (I hated they have to go too soon but they fixed the redundant plots..) that was 2018's conflict, and focusing not only in the love story but friendship, family and anti-bullying too made me realize that maybe after 20 years, another version might have succeeded Taiwan finally. Sorry for this long rant, lol but this is wonderful. I'm glad that not only did they brought back the fact that Thyme was her real soulmate but they also showed it in the best way. I still pity Lee Min Ho tho, he gave justice on Jun Pyo on the few good scenes he had.

Agree with you! For me, i think the Korean ver. has the most unattractive between the main characters (Jandi - Junpyo), that's so pity for Lee Min Ho, he should deserve more than that. Besides that, i also don't like the heroine's stupidity in Korean ver, it's too different from the other versions i used to watch.

@@vudohaiha I know right! Jandi was so much of a "damsel in distress" unlike the other versions. Yes, in other versions, she was saved too multiple times by Tsukasa/Asi/Thyme and Rui/Lei/Ren (ofc, mostly, it was Tsukasa) but she at least try to do something independently about it and she never really asked to be saved by anyone. Jan Di was either incosiderate or oblivious to Ji Hoo's feelings because she relied on him and gave him false hopes so much despiteJihoo giving obvious hints of having deep feelings for her. Even if she didn't know, doesn't she feel atleast a little shy for having her boyfriend's best friend do her errands than her own boyfriend?? This issue could have been avoided if they just followed the manga and the main point of the original story. Thailand's changes were okay (and amazing tbh) because it made the plot so much better. BOF's changes made it worse. The only good things they had for me was Jae Kyung (which is more likable than Jandi, lol), Ga Eul and Yi Jeong's romance (this was unbeatable XD) and Jun Pyo''s sister (all versions are bad ass tho).

​@@k.Angela yeah! I see, i love all the characters from Korean ver but Jandi. In some scenes, she made me uncomfortable because of her stupidity; although in the beginning, this drama was exciting and funny. I think part of it is Goo Hye-sun's acting made her character worse. I didn't see the inherent strength of the Weed girl. Just like you, I love Yi-jeong & Ga-eul couple, they're so sweet, and have the natural acting with more chemistry than the main characters.

Thank you so much for your comment. I totally agree with you. In this version, I really think that Thyme and Gorya's development was insane. The acting was perfect and I truly loved every moment. It only had 16 episodes but the story is so much deeper than any of the others.

@@serendipity_7 I agree. Bright and Tu for me had the best chemistry on-screen in all versions. The chemistry and tension was already there in the first episode while you have to wait for the development and Tsukasa/Asi's change in the other versions to show their chemistry (all of them had great chemistry though, Bright and Tu just had the best one for me). I honestly never planned to watch this series even if I'm an HYD addict already when its teaser came out cause I felt like it was "too dark" but I decided to give it a try anyway when my country decided to release a dubbed version and the trailer surprisingly made me excited and hyped. I didn't regret watching this and it's thrilling everytime it's Sunday (cause a new episode comes out in my country on the weekend), but sadly there's nothing to wait from now on... Among all versions, Bright was the most intimidating F4 leader in the first episode (it says something cause all versions were intimidating in their own right except Jun Pyo who's more of just a brat in the first ep) but Thyme had the best development and the softest side among all of them (not to compare again, but Jun Pyo who had the lightest aura, but barely changed, lol). I was surprised whenever they decided to combine two or more arcs in the series and it felt less cliche than others cause again, there's no redundant plots and it's the perfect modern adaptation of HYD. It's like I'm reliving the same feeling I had when I fell in love with Taiwan's versions and getting excited when I saw how they fixed some issues their predecessors had (like BOF's lack of justified development for Jandi and Jun Pyo and Meteor Garden 2018 being long with their unneccessary arcs like Mei zuo/Connor Leong's arc). F4 Thailand had 1 EPISODE about the amnesia arc while Meteor Garden 2 (2001) had a whole season covering it, lol. Also MJ was the most interesting 4th man in all. While Meteor Garden 2001 and their F4 and Shancai will remain in my heart and were still my favorites, I'll forever praise Thailand's version for honoring those before them while at the same time having an identity and chance to shine (at its brightest) in their own. Everything was perfect although I wished they did add that piano scene. Even io, I know it's more of a wish fulfillmnte in my side cause all versions did that as well as Rui, Lei, and Jihoo playing the violin. However, I understand since Gorya stepped against Thyme's mother multiple times anyway including in his own party where she was supposed to play the piano. Sorry for this long comment again XD. I just wanted to express my love for this series.
