Dance with a Skeleton (Hell Revealed 2 map 25)

Composed as midi by Petter Mårtensen in 1997-98. Also appeared on Hell Revealed 2 soundtrack on map 25.
This one was recorded a while back, but being a very casual KZbinr and having to re-learn video editing from scratch everytime (or rather, every year) I post a new video (even if it means just combining sound and static image), it took me a while to overcome this challenge.
Guitar, bass and mid section synth swells performed by Petter Mårtensen.

Oh my god! Holy shit! This was my single MOST favorite song in HR2, out of many great ones! I'm so happy to hear it recorded now! The intro always struck a chord with me, with how disconnected the keys and guitar are, intentionally ignoring each other. And then the song kicks in, full power, no brakes, perfect heavy This recording sounds great \m/ I'd 👍🏼 it a hundred times more if could, but rest assured this is going into my player for some intense repeats!

Is the intro melody lifted a bit from Lake Bodom by CoB?

It is not. The roots go much deeper back to early 1984 when my mom was finishing her music studies and I wasn't quite yet born. She said the intro sounds eerily similar to some of the exercises she did at the time. Coincidence? Illuminati confirmed! I got into CoB in late 1998 and you may hear their influence more clearly in my Impulse Tracker songs from 1998-2000. Something Wild is indeed one of my top 10 most influential albums ever, but this song was written before that time.

Why do you "have to re-learn video editing from scratch every year"? You can simply stick with older software and screw the capitalist crap.

I used Blender earlier and now I'm sticking my audio files onto a still image with Shotcut, so I can hardly say I'm feeding capitalism in that area. If I open Shotcut now, I have no fuking clue what I'm doing because I've used it for 5 minutes total this year and the workflow hasn't been engrained into my daily routines the way Cubase and Guitar Pro have.
