So for XianLe (Xie Lian’s ancient kingdom) I saw another comment say to pronounce it as “shun luh” (both of these are “uh” as in “shut up”, same pronunciation) and I TOTALLY agree. Basically try to remember that most of the time an “e” vowel will make the sound “uh”. This is also true for Feng Xin and Hua Cheng. Obviously this isn’t the case for EVERYONE, because Xie Lian and Ling Wen don’t apply to this. The “e” in their names sounds more like an “e” as in “leg”. And another important tip, the “u” vowel in Chinese will USUALLY sound like an “oo” as in “moo”. Take for example Mu Qing, pronounced “Moo Ching”.

Another fun reaction! I think everyone is flustered by Hua Cheng showing up. 😂 And just FYI, ghosts and gods basically retain their appearance of the time they became ghosts or gods. So, Xie Lian looks the same as he did when he first ascended and doesn't age physically. 🙂

15:47 😰 yeah.. that's an... interesting story indeed.. you'll have to wait for it till season 6 if they take it one book at a time.. if we ever get this far 😮💨 24:10 yup. Basically. the e in Le is more silent or.. more like .. o-sound? As if you wanted to say Lo but.. you did not..? English dub has very dramatic way to say "Xian Le" and I love it xD

The translations here are kind of weird at times. The Four Calamaties are generally known as 1) Qi Rong (chee wrong), Night Touring Green Lantern (just call him Qi Rong) 2) He Xuan (heh shuan), Black Water Sinking Ships (just call him Black Water) 3) Bai Wuxian (bye woo shian), White Clothed Calamity (commonly called White No-Face, wore a white mask that is half smiling and half frowning) 4) Hua Cheng (as it looks), Crimson Rain Sought Flower (just Hua Cheng) It wasn't really clear but Hua Cheng challenged 35 officials and 2 refused his challenge - Feng Xin and Mu Qing. Some might consider them cowards but really they just weren't that stupid or arrogant, and that's why they are still around. Pei Jr is saying that Xuan Ji would go even crazier if she saw Pei Ming, so they can't keep her at Pei Ming's palace - Feng Xin/Nan Yang/Biggus Dickus (this will never not be funny to me) is stuck with her for now. Gods should not be pretending to be mortals and building temples to themselves but Xie Lian is going to be Xie Lian and he's adorable so he gets away with it. Mo Dao Zu Shi should be available on KZbin, the Tencent Channel, but you have to join as a member. Seasons 1 and 2/23 episodes - kzbin.info/aero/PLxOs22nkVmnKIbOioc0okz6cDPdKPrE94, and season 3/12 episodes -kzbin.info/aero/PLxOs22nkVmnIK8XqyR14Ed6jBl7XOUEoe

Just a heads up, Black Water's full name mentioned now is a bit of a spoiler. He's just know as Black Water Demon Xuan at this point in the books. Just so she doesn't get too many spoilers too early!

@@PixxiesPlanetHii. This is completely unrelated, but I saw your reaction to Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and I’m so happy you’re watching it. It’s one of my favorite shows of all time.

@@PixxiesPlanet And just to clear up any confusion you may have, Xian Le (shan-l-ugh is the pronunciation) is the name of Xie Lian’s fallen kingdom. And that was 800 something years ago, so Xie Lian is suggesting that the bandaged boy is over 800 years old. This is not a spoiler since the show has stated how long it’s been since the kingdoms fall. In the first episode if I remember correctly, or maybe the second. It was one of the earlier episodes.

This episode was full of information I'm sure you'll go through again because we got even more characters, lol. So all of the Ghost Kings (except Green Lantern) went through Mount Tonglu to attain their Devastation rank position and powers. Green Lantern is only a Wrath, but they included him in the "four" because he's such a troublemaker and is powerful enough to be annoying. Just to summarize, Hua Cheng didn't technically "destroy" these gods by killing them. Once the gods lost to him by either fighting or debates, they refused to give up their godhood, even though that was the agreement. So, Hua Cheng held them accountable by burning all of their temples instead. No temples=no place of worship=loss of followers. Once a god ascends, they have to gain and maintain followers. If they lose them, they essentially die out due to the loss of believers fueling their power. Man's basically said "if you're not going to be good on your word, I'll help you out" LMAO. Now the story REALLY begins... I hope you read the books eventually, because most of your questions about Xie Lian's past will not be answered in these 2 seasons haha

The names are hard already but then all the characters basically have the same characteristics 😭 I’d advice you to take a look at the manhua when your done with season one I think it will enhance your understanding of the story better (than you already have) also “xian le” is pronounced “shun luh “ if that helps
@PixxiesPlanet19 сағат бұрын
i will indeed i’m sure it will get a little less confusing 😂

@@PixxiesPlanet I agree with the OG comment! If u don’t get how XianLe turns into Shun Lu, it’s basically because it’s like saying the word fast. Kind of like how in English “want to” turns into “wanna”. The “uh” sound is “uh” as in “lucky”, and it applies to both the words “shun” and “luh”. Hopefully this didn’t make it more confusing, I’m basically just reiterating the original comments’ point😭
