The adaptation KILLS the original and an important message of the novel about human equality - even the king cannot expect others to die for them. The TV version deletes this message and the part on overthrowing the king. The male protagonist is supposed to have undergone such a trauma that his mind is somewhat distorted. His dark side is a crucial part of this character, and the tragic side of life is this that makes this story extraordinary. The adaptation now deletes all this. Is it still good adaptation? NO!
