learning to use front brake is the 1st exercise taught at an "sport" riding school, it is the 1st important skill to keep rider safe and increase performance and control, together with proper use of rear brake you will be able to decelerate to the max potential of the tire and road condition, whether you learn it for emergency stopping on the street or setting up for trail braking on the track it is a life saving skill, start by stopping from straight, like precision rifle triggers, you want to squeeze brake levers and not jabbing it, on the motorcycle, feel the weight transfer happens first before apply more pressure, the tire can give you a lot of grip if you are able to load it first and use it within its capability, locking front tire is a very bad situation ride smart and safe, enjoy life
the knowledge and skills are not for racing only, it can be used to increase your safety margin, learn it but ride conservatively on the street, deploy advanced skills when appropriate to save yourself (and others)
