Tian Tao is very strong, but he is inconsistent, often missing lifts that you would expect him to easily make. He also has stronger competition in his weight class than some other Chinese prospects.

True. However what makes this lift impressive is not his clean but his Jerk. You can see the vast improvement in his Jerk technique here which improved the stability his base when catching as that has always been his weakest link.

+Jay Ell Probably because they go by smaller increments during training so they just didn't want to bother taking plates off so instead they just add lighter plates. They use reds when they train the squat though.

All the way back in 2006 the Chinese sent a superheavyweight to the Worlds. I believe his name was Dong Feng. I recall he snatched 190 and jerked 245. Never saw him again after that unfortunately.
