I hope in the future they could add more space in the dark areas because it does look empty and eerie but honestly I enjoyed the ride through can’t wait to ride it soon!!!

It’s hard to see but there’s a lot in there it’s just not all lit well which I can see them adding more lighting.

How would you compare this ride to the old Splash Mountain if you thoroughly enjoyed it? Did you also like it more than the official Disney Parks POV video?

Splash mountain was my absolute favorite ride growing up. It was almost weird because the track is the same so it felt like splash but didn’t look like it. The ride is beautiful and there are so many cute moments I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s not “better” than splash but I like the story better than splash and the animatronics are better than splash. The queue line is MUCH better with great music and colorful fun details throughout. I also have not watched the POV video because I wanted to experience the ride myself.

@@TheDaniDiaries For those of us who loved Splash Mountain and still love the changes, "not the same" isn't a negative thing. You cannot replace what was broken, but we have a memory of it. That memory is what we hold dear. I would be utterly broken to lose the ride completely or worse, have a complete reliance on screens and be given one animatronic. And surprisingly we do exist. We loved the ride. Seeing it broken so many times really hurt. I'd accept any refurbishment to keep the track. It was easier to accept when it was one of my favorite movies. Tiana looks amazing. I do take umbrage with the people who dare accuse us of not being actual Splash Mountain fans. My first trip to Disney World has the photos to prove I was obsessed with this ride and we have nothing to prove. We know what we are!

I didn't really get to ride Splash mountain that much ever before it closed forever so I don't really have that much of a connection to the ride but I still thought it was an amazing attraction though. But what i have seen from Tianas bayou adventure is still impressive with how they used new tech to their advantage like with the animatronics and projections. I hope I can ride it soon in late November this year.

Sad replacement, splash was so much more whimsical and had more to entertain you. 😢

Have you ridden it in person yet? It still has a lot of the same “entraining” elements and has more colorful “whimsical” qualities than Splash did in my opinion BUT I know everyone has different opinions and ultimately this is not a “new” ride just a new overlay similar to Frozen Ever After. I’m sure people had the same debate with Maelstrom.
