There's... a lot of downtime through this ride. A lot of quiet sections and just overall underwhelming, though I like some of the sets and all - it just feels far more anemic than it was hyped up to be.

There's more going on than was on Splash Mountain. It would be terrible if it were non-stop stuff. The few brief quiet parts of the ride allows you to enjoy the water etc. You need to find your happy place and go there.

I have plenty of optimism. And there’s things that I like about TBA. But this is extremely UN-exciting. All of the tension that Splash had in its final lift hill is gone. There’s no suspense, no dread. No EXCITEMENT.

not being a hater; i was mostly receptive to splash being replaced by princess and the frog, but they lost me here. the exterior is unattractive, the interior is boring - what were they thinking?

Guess I'm gonna be the first positive review in this comment section lol. I wanna ride it in person first but so far i enjoy what I've seen. The vibe hasn't shifted drastically from what it was originally and i like the choice in music but I do wish Dr. Facilier was included in this somehow. That's still disappointing

I can be the second! I’ve watched the pov multiple times and it has grown on me a lot, the songs are fun, the storyline is fun (although not edge of your seat exciting like it was for me on splash), and the inside looks beautiful!

I'm that grey person. I don't think think it's completely terrible. The animatronics are the selling point certainly, but a lack of clear narrative and emptiness doesn't help the ride. In comparison, Splash Mountain was better with things to look at at every corner and overall better story telling. No one cared it was based on Song of the South because most people either didn't catch on or thought it was an original ride not based on any ips. Something Disney should get back to doing. Either way I doubt they will make any changes to the ride, but given the number of times it's gone down and fire alarm going off, they might need to close down for another refurb soon at this point

I have to wonder if those criticizing the new version ever rode the original. A POV video is not going to give you the full experience.. It's the same as it was before, but with different characters and far better animatronics. If you're so butt hurt that Splash has a new look and theme, then go to Disneyland Tokyo.

I rode the original on both coasts multiple times. The POV literally showcases the full experience, you are 100% bullshitting. This is far worse than Splash was. No story, no suspense, no emotion, it's just another shitty dark ride like every Disney retheme is.

Frontierlandland music is far too little. The only country feel tune in "Going Down The Bayou". (Song of the South could be jealous of more dialogue.) That piece of land could've turn into "New Orleans Corner". Gotta wait to see what Disneyland's version is like.

Look, I understand all the hate this ride gets, but honestly, I’m pretty glad with what we got and I’m grateful for it. Like Mama Odie always says “what you want isn’t exactly what you need”. Sure, have we wanted the drop to have “Are you REEEEADY?” for the longest time? Yeah. But keep in mind that all these Imagineers worked on this dang ride for 5 hard and long years since 2020, and to see all the pieces of this beautiful masterpiece (animatronics, audio, screens, lighting and smoke effects, etc.) all coming together despite a few technical kinks needed to be worked out is just freaking *AMAZING!!* If anything, the only issues I have about this is 1. The audio for the animatronics should be nice and synced once both versions make it to their respective parks. And 2. the Disneyland version at least should maybe add some extra show scenes in the bayou to fill up the whole dead empty space we sometimes see in there. Other than that, plot’s fine, animatronics are so BEAUTIFUL, and the whole thing is just so amazing! Hopefully all those vloggers out there can get a better view once previews start kicking in. And one more thing: if someone ever makes a video of nice, still closer looks at all the animatronics on the ride saying all of their lines (bc I know for a fact they all have multiple lines and not just the ones we see here), then and only then will I be happy.
