I love The Princess and the Frog! It got me through a really hard time in my life and a really long hospital stay. I HATE that instead of giving Tiana her own ride or her own restaurant, they gave her the rewarmed leftovers of another beloved attraction. Then everyone will say fans are racist when this doesn’t take off, but fans love Tiana, they are just sad about what was lost.

Yup 💯% correct I'm not racist I'm just not that happy that Tiana didn't use more of the characters they had access to and also a little bored that people don't understand I prefer not having 🌈 traps on any server I join

I am in no way swayed by them saying they are doing these as a shakedown to iron out any bugs in the system. Look at Rise of the Resistance, its open to the public, it has been for quite a while. Still there are issues with that ride like Kylo in "b-mode" or the turbo cannons not moving. So will these issues be fixed by the time it opens to the general public...? Probably not. as far as it telling "ladies pull down on your lap bars"... Excuse me Disney... don't assume my gender!

So I watched the POV video and I think what happened was that the original concept of finding a special spice for the cooking turned into helping Louis find musicians to play at the party. My thought was that they had Louis’ voice when you passed the okra because I think the idea was that he was searching in the okra for musicians. Then when Mama Odie shrunk you down, it was to look for tinier musicians (that’s why Louis butt was sticking out of the tree roots, lol.) So, you encounter all the Afro-Cuban musicians among the ‘shrooms. Not sure what message that’s sending, but…whatever… And then, having found the tiny musicians for the party band, you’re made larger again by Mama Odie’s bayou mist to splash down and make it in time to the party…where Tiana talks about how the needed spice was inside you all along. Like, WHAT? Spice, music, spice, music - pick a plot, ma’am! As for that Welcome sign at the end, that’s their way of saying, “We’re still into Walt and his dream! See how Disney we are??” 🙄 By the end of the POV, I was so confused, disappointed, and unimpressed. Sure, I know this is only a video preview, it’s “different” in person, blah blah. But the preview should be enticing people to visit WDW and ride it. All this is doing is making me happy I’ll be saving thousands of dollars from skipping a trip for another year in a row. Ugh.

@DadmanWalking55 - the reason they created the original story is because they were trying to put the Princess of the Frog IP into an attraction originally created around a mountain setting. But…there are no mountains in Louisiana. So they originally set this around a salt mine that Tiana owned which was essentially the “mountain.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

But there's no salt mines in new Orleans There's Cargill salt mine way out in Avery island And the only uplift in the land there is man man made entrance over a salt dome which was deep under ground It's closed now It's just a big mistake by imagineers

When we went last sept, 12 different times, rides stopped mid ride. Taking my brother who has never been this coming September, and it’s going to be a REAL problem if we experience the same crap, rides stopping on top of the multitudes of other things between the parks and hotel. His first and possibly only trip. I won’t accept less than the magic they promise. They will be asked to compensate HEAVILY. 😡

Now Imagine after you fall down the hill after the villian says are you ready! if the ending was a pepper ghost effect of Tiana and naveen as frogs kissing at their wedding and they turn into humans with beautiful animatronics. Tiana in her beautiful dress!

They should have just left it as Splash Mountain and gave Tiana a different ride. Today's imagineers seem to lack imagination.

My classic Disneyland floaty action pen has more artistic enjoyment than this terrible ride. You supposedly start in a Louisiana swamp setting, yet where is the environmental ambience? No frogs croaking, crickets chirping, gators rumbling, etc. It's just dead silent except for the faint background jazz song. Not a good start to a dead attraction. Then you have the weirdly waving arms of the Tiana robot. Is she practicing for directing planes at the airport? That's followed by nearly 3 mins. of absolutely nothing going on. Oooo boy, how exciting. I see the video's editors tried to cut down on the dead zones with a few cuts. The nature scenes in the "Pandora River Journey" was 100% better than those displayed here, with only have dancing firefly swarms. Wait a minute here! Why is their an elderly firefly with a WALKER in the projection screen scene at 1:32:50? Was that supposed to be humorous? That makes less sense than the whole ride itself. The cone of light effect on the last lift hill was amazing in how poorly done it was. "Space Mountain" would like of word with the builders since they knew how to do it right. This is going to be one extremely costly loser of a ride for you, Disney. Tokyo Disneyland was correct in not destroying their world famous "Splash Mountain" attraction. At least the Oriental Land Company respects Walt's legacy. BTW, La Reina, you don't have to keep pressing the "Play" button to run the video. Just click on the screen itself.

Yep, that elderly firefly is GrandmaMa--one of my favorite guilty pleasure characters of the movie :)
