Subscribed. Awesome breakdown. I have about 15 years of experience in the gym. I’m currently gym-less but my job is extremely physical, so I’m now figuring out all the at-home adaptations with minimal equipment. I was searching through KZbin videos for an answer to the question “Should I get a monkey foot or a solo tib bar” and your explanation makes sense. The reason I was looking at the monkey foot was, indeed, for hamstring curls, but now I realize there’s a number of work-arounds for that. Great video.

Thanks. I just canceled my Tib Bar and ordered the solo. Excellent ideas. I play hockey and this will be huge for me.

I'm going to buy this, but I also have the monkey foot and I think it may be better for hip flexor training (Knees raises) due to the fact that the weight is directly under the heel and the pull is transferred directly up the leg to the hip (less distance to travel). Since the Tib Solo has weight on the end of your foot, the monkeyfoot will feel more stable lifting the knee since the weight is not protruding off the end, and the tension does not have to travel through the moving foot and ankle up to the hips.

How do you like Tib Solo Bar as of 10/29/2024? how does it compare to the Monkey Feet?

6:13 - Nice video. This got me thinking a lot about using one of these for leg extensions and I saw you can flip it around for hamstring curls, but, at higher weights it would all be on the upper foot, and that would really suck lol. The tibias would also give out LONG before the quads. I clearly didn't think this through very much. Found different exercises I prefer anyway for only knee-bending quad and hamstring stuff.

Great Video. I see in this video the toes are in a bent position. Other ones I see like the Isotib LT Hgg Performance the feet and toes are flat as your entire foot is mounted in a flat position. Have you compared the two to each other? I wonder which one works better? It's got to make a difference.

Sounds great especially when I have a muscle imbalance due to multiple kneee surgeries on the same knee. Which made my body very stiff

The first gym I ever trained at back in the 80s had an actual Tibialis Anterior machine. There is NOTHING that develops that muscle as well as full range of movement resistance with iron! I’ve yet to find a gym lately that has one. So I’m going to buy one of your 2 foot tip bar thingies.

Thanks for this. I think you have sold me. I am assuming that it would also be effective doing ankle inversion/eversion?
@toomuch97622 жыл бұрын
Well that was the purpose. It’s a sales pitch. Using bands or the body weight version is perfectly ample for this exercise.

Which is better to use when you want to do quads and hamstrings? I hope you can make a tutorial video on how to do leg curls and leg extensions using the tib bar and the tib solo.
@Fishstories111 ай бұрын
I’d look at the Nordic Curl machine for hamstrings.
@batman-sr2px2 жыл бұрын
have you tried the tib bar vs monkeyfeet for prone hamstring curls. Which one feels better for the knee and able to load?
@sportsrehabexperts2 жыл бұрын
none feel great honestly, the mechanical disadvantage of the weight is different from a machine. The weight resistance act straight down and lose resistance around 45 deg

@@sportsrehabexperts damn truly no way around other than buying knee ext/knee curl machine if wanting to work at home. i find monkey feet too stressful on inner knee during leg extensions. Tib bar sounding too expensive for one purpose.
@caleb11381 Жыл бұрын
@@batman-sr2px have you considered nordic curls?

What clamp is that you have on your tib bar? I have the Tib bar but the clamp isn’t tight and so it wobbles and it’s annoying. I’m considering the tib solo because of this…
@MrCurlz Жыл бұрын
Sooo if you would use it in reverse it would hit calves, right?
@pedrocerda65742 жыл бұрын
do you think it could be possible to try and use the tib bar on a single foot even though it was made for two? Or would it be too cumbersome to really work?
@sportsrehabexperts2 жыл бұрын
won't work, not how it was designed. Will either fall off or put an awkward twist on foot

Can it take a good mount of weight without the plates slipping when placed vertically? Thinking of using them for knee raises as well.
