It's an Independence Day reference. The Banshee looks somewhat like the derelict alien fighter in the movie they used to send to the mothership. The launch scene in the movie Will Smith (forgot his character's name) had the controls inverted and flew into a wall and said "oops" before flying off in orbit.

just asking: why didn't ya use that digging apc right at the beginning together with an pioneer? would've been easy with that little resistance to take over an enemy mcv. also: why doesn't anyone pave out the base to prevent underground stealth attacks? does it take too long?

online games are diffrent, pave can take long time, and if fast apc with cc can be stopable.

So is Nod the only competitive faction in multiplayer? I noticed everybody was Nod. Or was this just because of the visci-bois and Nod has the diggerdoos and tunny runnies to avoid them underground?

LMAO, these names - probably rocket men, artillery and sub units - otherwise you'd have to Carryall everything. Plus the missles are better in this case, plus stealth. Banshees are probably cheaper too. Cyborg commando is cheaper too etc etc etc.

Another aspect is the orange vines on the map. Only Nod can harvest those vines to make chemical missiles, and you can make a LOT of missiles using them. I always make a point to target those things first. Maybe that's suboptimal strategy, since it doesn't seem to be a common tactic, but I really dislike having my stuff be wiped out by those things.

@@tomaO2 I always made a point to kill any superweapon in any RTS game simply because I hate having my staging area smoked by a single missile. I rarely played Nod, but GDI is a little bit more difficult to swing in multiplayer at first and gets stronger in later game stuff.

Was it a NOD only match? Because the arti still had the instakill tracking, that got almost instantly patched out and the enemy team could have mamothed you with a carryall, if they were GDI.

i made just few maps in my life, maybe 10. Usually, i just get them for playing online. You can download this game at "cncnet" and join us online. There are a lot of players, maybe in night time it can be over 100.

It depends on many things. The size of the map, how the map is built, whether you play with Modim or without, what the maximum technological level, and more. On the simplest level, I think that GDI is more robust, but NOD has one big advantage the banshee aircraft. It is much faster and carries three missiles, and it is one of the units by which it is possible to crush strong bases.

It will eventually spell the death of CnC. It is 2 decades old and people still behave like 12yo bullies. There should be an opportunity, a sub-community, where laggers and lousy player can get together and have a good time and perhaps also advance to the competitive space. Luckily I grew up in the modem days, constant lag is how I remember the game online, so I don't mind that. It also slows the game down, leading to a comfy, soft session. I prefer apprentices before a master challenge. I think I'm on to something here.
