Scorpion Tank: Fast and cheap but low armor. It is great to use in a blitzkrieg tactics during early game. Predator Tank: Medium Tank(I think) medium armor but slow and expensive. But still, it has a great value in late game. Devourer Tank: long range and it has a decent armor during late game but slow and also expensive.

Devourers don't have the usual damage upgrade, but their tiberium ray deals the most damage of all three and its immediatelly available. If you take care to recharge them, they are pretty destructive, but they lose in long engagements. Together with their slow speed and long range makes them more suited for a support role, they excel at softening defenses and tank columns from afar while more afordable units take brunt of the punishment.

@@BVasquezp micromanagement is their call and you are indeed right. they have more of a Siege role rather then full frontal assault unit, not to mention they can't turn their turrets. (which does give them some advantage as they will always face the enemy and take less damage if from front but other times it becomes awful)

Devourers armor is pretty poor for what they cost. it would rather call it a tank-artillery hybrid. trades some extra range for armor.

Comparing these vehicles is a tricky one. The Scorpion is more of a mass produced, mobile Light Tank. It’s quick and has decent armor against lighter vehicles (Pitbulls and Seeker Tanks) but it’s not a Medium tank. The weight is about 30 Tons (as the game and wiki says) and isn’t really meant to fight other tanks. The Predator is your all purpose Modern Tank. Good armor, decent standard gun, average mobility. The “perfect” medium tank. The only problem with this tank is the cost and the somewhat inflexible play style it has, (not meant to deal with infantry) as I would prefer the scorpion against infantry just because the dover can crush Zone Troopers, Disintegrators ( without taking damage ), and the speed it has. But the Predator is the best all round. The Devourer Tank is more of a Long-Range tank destroyer or CQB Artillery in my mind as it has the longest firing range of the three and even out ranges the Avatar, (which can deal with base Defences outside of there firing range) and has no armor to speak of. That’s why pairing it with Gunwalkers is a great combination, gunwalkers take the hits, and Devourers deal the damage. But there are medium tanks in the game, although weird ones. Best pick to pair against the scorpion would be the Seeker as they are both light tanks. For the predator and devourer, I would pick the flame tank, sadly.

I find against the other tanks the scorpion works best in large numbers while backed up by flame tanks or avatars who can take the attention away from them.

I'm not the only one who thinks of devourers as tank destroyers then. yeah thats what they get used for, scrin players/AI prefer to use seekers as tanks.

Predator: Before upgrate it has good dmg and hp. You can see its very powerfull so I cant deny its the best if he got upgrates. Scorpion: I would call it a light tank. Fast but low hp and dmg. With upgrate can deal real dmg and ride over heavy infaltry like zone troopers (his speed also helps to make sure you will ride them before destroy it). Devouer: I belive its a little glass cannon. Yes if other dont have upgrates he win but if they have it lose completly. But his charged cannon could be real kicker if he got it all the time.

@@competenceinmotion6426 welp , they're more sky-based , considering they've got the best sky units in-game and that their ground unit is , at some point , almost the best heavy ground unit . It's a pretty devastating faction , which has a high-cost high-quality units and if you have no idea how to counter them these are a giant menace . Also *SKYTURTLE* .

Great and lengthy experiment, fair play to you. At around 4:50 though, had you moved the Devourer tank towards the infantry, the buzzer swarm would have wreaked havoc SO fast. Deadly against infantry, except for the NOD and GDI commandos who would have likely just killed them.

Devourer Tank shouldn't be pitted (Tier 2), by right should be the seeker although the latter vehicle is designed to fulfill the role of an equivalent of a pitbull but is Scrin's main battle tank as with Scorpion and Predator also at tier 1. That said I always like the Predator. Not Cheap but for late game is not that expensive either and the Railgun upgrade totally trumps the Scorpion and even the higher tear Devourer.

If I had bet on this, I've won 100% of the matches, incredible how the railgun is so fuckin' overpowered, although I think a 5v5 between a upgraded Predador vs a charged Devourer, the Devourer would win, anything longer than a 10 second skirmish, the Predador would win easily.

That 2 kill Predator promotion seems a bit suspicious if I'm honest. . . Are all the tanks used for that testing built fresh from the factory (i.e. didn't shoot/kill any units before testing)?

it would be interesting to see a battle with armies made of equal costs. If you spend the same amount on preds vs. scorps for example, who wins? Also, with the devourer, it is difficult to fairly compare this since a player will make an effort to keep the beam charged as much as possible and to reverse move to keep firing out of range of the other tanks. There is also a lot of value in the speed of scorpions, since that poses significant threat in real battles, especially with dozer blades

We are not taking cost into consideration in any of our videos, economy is what you will have on your advantage or dissadvantage in the game, but one cheaper unit can beat an expensive one, and it varies from mod to mod.

Maybe starting them all off as elites on the vs Vehicles : No Upgrades would have been more fair, seeing as the GDI tank got quite the lead at that point purely because it increased rank faster... Sure in a real fight that would also be relevant as this means GDI tanks are more easily trained to elite compared to Scrin tanks, but as a weapons demonstration I feel it gives kind of a bad impression since you would usually not intentionally let your enemy grind your vehicles for XP like this...

devourer isn't a light tank by any metric its closer to fire support/light siege and is intended to sit more in the back and add its firepower unlike the proper tanks. Seekers are proper light tanks of the scrin and they should be the ones in the comparison and even then "light tank" isn't really a category in TW3 its main battle tank as GDI doesn't have one and you could argue that NODs scorpion is too tanky for light category which would leave the seeker which again is fluid in what category we could put it in and devourer again isn't really a tank and if we were to force it in then it would be a medium.

That doesn't make sense 🤔 Edit: The scorpion needed to kill a gunwalker + pitbull + attack bike + corrupter to get promoted to veteran and the devourer needed to kill a gunwalker + pitbull + attack bike + corrupter + APC to get promoted to veteran Predator dealt 700+700=$1,400 worth of damage but needs to deal 1,100x3=$3,300 worth of damage to get to veteran which doesn't make sense Scorpion dealt 700+700+600+1000=$3,000 worth of damage and needs to deal $800x3=$2,400 worth of damage to get to veteran so that makes sense Devourer dealt 700+700+600+1000+700=$3,700 worth of damage but needs to deal $1,600x3=$4,800 worth of damage to get to veteran which also doesn't make sense

The Command and Conquer system is like "You get what you kill" so if you kill a higher tier unit you get more experience.

@@TiberiumGames Yes I know how veterancy in the C&C games work dude 🤦‍♂️ And in Tiberium Wars it's calculated based off how much damage the unit dealt. And if you had read the edit in my previous comment you would see that I have calculated exactly how much each tank needs to get promoted to veteran status. The problem is that the Predator and Devourer dealt less damage than needed to get promoted yet they got promoted anyway. So it seems most likely that before setting that specific test up those tanks had dealt some damage and that's why they needed less to get promoted. So it's not a completely fair fight, because the Predator and Devourer got promoted earlier than they should have which gives them an unfair advantage. This applies especially to the Predator as it got promoted to veteran after only 2 kills.

Is a light tank that you can get at T-2, but is a light tank after all. You can get a Stealth "Tank" on T3, but it cannot face the Mammoth. So Stealth Tank is also a Light Launcher, not a tank.
