Even though So Hee did use correct reasoning to arrive at an answer that works, there are actually two solutions to this math problem. She even mentioned at one point she decided to guess/plug in a number for trial and error. The two solutions are: 403871/661 (the one she arrived at), and 403260/660 which also fits with the number of unknown boxes presented in the problem. The crux lies at line 4 (like they mentioned), where there are only 2 integer subtraction combinations left that can create a 6. 7-1=6, or 6-0=6. (9-3) and (8-2) are ruled out because in the first step of the long division, to get a 6 in the 10's digit place, after multiplying a 6(x) number by 6, you can only use 0 or 1. Ultimately, this math problem just could have been written better.

(6b÷10의 나머지)는 6,2,8,4,0,6,2,8,4...와 같은 식으로 반복된다. 이제 노가다;로 그냥 대입해서 풀어보면 b가 1일때 a=1~9, b=4 일때 a=5,6,7 b가 6일때 a=1 b가 7일때 a=6,7 b가 9일때 a=3이 된다. 그런데 문제에서 ?6?×6??=??????로 주어졌는데 ?6?×6=??6?은 b(=승수)가 6인 경우이고 이 경우에 첫째자릿수는 1이다. 따라서 ?6?=?61이라는 말이된다. 그런데 (100a+61)×b=660+c에서 b는 1이나 6밖에 될 수 없고 만약 b=6이면 a에는 어떤 수를 넣어도 안된다.(a=1은 셋째자릿수가 9가 돼서 안되고 a=2부터는 네자리수가 돼서 안됨) 따라서 b=1 이고 a=6이다. 즉, 661×61?이다. 그리고 이 남은 물음표에는 1밖에 들어갈 수 없다. 따라서 661×611 ?6?의 첫째자릿수가 0인 경우로 두고 푸는 건 그냥 계산하면 끝.

Since i see a lot of confused people in the comments, i will try to explain it (explanation might still be wrong but I'm 99% sure it's right): the base of the equation is ??????? (which turned out to be 403871) divided by the number to the left ( = 661) and the result is at the top. Now we start by dividing just how, at least I, learned it. We look how many times the divisor (= 661) can fit in the number, subtract it each time and repeat until 0 or there is a rest. The result already says that it fits 600 times in the big number or 6 times into the first 4 digits. The result of that is ??6? (number under the big one). Now we multiply each digit of ?6? with 6: 6*? + 6*60 + 6*?00. Remember that you need to multiply 6 with 60 and not with 6.The last one will either be 1200, 1800... since the result needs 4 digits(if it was 600 the result would only have 3), so the last 2 digits will always be 00. 6*60 is 360.Therefore, if we add the result of 6*?xx, the results would always be either 1560 (1200+360), 2160(1800+360) etc. But we haven't added the number of 6*? yet. If ? is anything other than 1, it wouldn't work. If it was 2 or any other number, it would be 1200+360+12= 1572 (or 1800+360+12=2172 etc i hope you get it). But we know that the 2nd to last digit needs to be a 6. So now we know the divisor is ?61 Next up the the 4th row. We know that we subtract the remaining number by 66?. This is the number that comes up when we multiply the 2nd digit of the number at the top ,6??, with ?61. The only possible numbers for ?61 are 161, 261 and 661. Why? The result is 3 digits long and starts with 66, so after that, all results are bigger than 66?. So all you do is x*161, x*261 with x being the numbers from 1 to 4 and see which results have 66 at the beginning and are 3 digits long. The only answer is 661, since 2*161= 322, 3*161=483, 4*161= 644 and the same goes for 261. So now we have the divisor = 661,the 2nd digit of the top number is 1 ( since 1*661=661) and the number in the 4th row is also 661. For the last digit of the top number, we need to multiply 661 with it and get a 3 digit number (which is the one in the last row before 0) with a 6 in the middle. How do we know that? The last 2 numbers at the bottom need to be the same since they will be subtracted and the result is 0, so both numbers have 6 in the middle. The obvious answer is 661, therefore the last digit is also 1. So we know that the divisor is 661 and the result is 611. Now we could either multiply them to find the numbers or, how So Hee does it, add everything back up. So since the result from line 4 to line 5 is 66, now you go 66+661 and get 727 and so on I hope i made it a little easier to understand for you. I only saw the video yesterday and was just as confused as everyone else, but somehow today it clicked for me. If you still have any questions, please ask them.

@@ffsharry2997 it has to be 1, no trial and error needed. You basically look how many times the divisor fits in the first 3 digits of the base, and if the first 3 digits of the base are greater than the divisor you look at the first 4 digits of the base. The results tells us that the divisor fits 6 times in the first 4 digits of the base. So now we multiply the divisor with 6. 6*first digit of the divisor plus 6*second digit plus 6*third digit is the same as multiplying it as one. So 661*6 is the same as 6*600 + 6*60 + 6*1. But we only now for sure that is 6*60 by then, which is 360. The 6 in the 3rd digit under the base is the 6 of the 360, since any number x*600 has a 0 as a digit in that position, so even if we add the number from x*600 to 6*60, the 6 of 360 stays. But if we add any other number than 6, that digit would change. if the divisor was 662, it would be 6*662 which is 3972. So now we have a 7 where it should be a 6.
