''We could charge more than £104. Let´s say we charged £300.We'd get £2m more in income, but what´s £2m for us? In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for 5 minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk. Football has to be for everybody. That´s the biggest difference between us and England''. Ex-Bayern Club President, Uli Hoeness on the clubs season ticket prices.

Kyle Bailie Majority of this comes back to supply & demand as well as the premier league is more popular world wide over the bundesliga. Rising the price will bring in the same amount of people so why not rise it and make more money (That is why the prem is so successful). Rising the price of tickets does not hurt the teams because they still are profiting even more.

therealjeagles The Bundesliga is growing but it is no where close to the premier league. For example: When people say premier league most people can name over 10 clubs while some will struggle to name even 5 bundesliga clubs. Also, premier league have way more popular world class players over bundesliga.

I'm a Norwich City supporter and for the opening home fixture against Crystal Palace, the home prices were set to at least £40 but all the tickets were sold within a few hours, so I'm worried that my club that I have supported for as long as I can remember won't put prices down because they are selling all the tickets anyway. I would like to see my team play, especially because we are back in the premier league but it's really difficult when the prices are set so high.

Ticket prices is one of the reasons the soul is dissapearing from english football. The real fans cant afford to go to the games and even if they do afford it they're not allowed to stand up and bring flags etc. The FA should look to countries like Germany where they have one of the absolute best leagues in Europe but also affordable ticket prices and an active supporter community. I honestly feel bad for u brits, u have a real passion for the game but the FA is screwing you over big time.

Being a football fan, there comes a point when you should know better and when you're being ripped off. There will be fans who'll pay it though because that's what they do. With my club, FC United of Manchester, being a fan-owned club means the supporters have a large say in the organisation of the club and how the club operates. Part of the reason for existing is that we want football to be less about money and more about fans and the love of the game. For this reason the club have to have fairly low ticket prices. It probably has meant that we haven't been able to afford all the best players in the world and get promoted much quicker than we would have liked to have done, but it's consistently lead to high attendances for the league we play in.

Even as a Leeds fan I have respect for Bradford and Huddersfield for lowering their ticket prices to a correct level. I have friends who'll pay £80 next season to watch Huddersfield when I have to pay £250 for a Leeds season ticket and they beat us 4-1. How can that be right? We have a 35/40,000 seater stadium and if prices were right we could get 28/30,000 every game but right now it's stuck at 20,000 ( which isn't bad) but it's not enough for a stadium and club like ours. This needs to become a wide spread thing. Home tickets should be no more than £6/8 a game.

After moving away from the Manchester area in 2002, i was forced to have to travel to a match via public transport (train) costing me roughly £20 return from where i live. Now, once you have added that with food and a matchday programme you have already reached £45! Then you add in the match ticket which for me as an under 16, is still at £25+ for a mediocre contest for example maybe Stoke or Villa at home (with all due respect to those teams, i still wouldn't be wanting to spend nearly £80 on something that you love.

My wife and I follow Liverpool FC and we live in America, watch the team as much as we can on television, and were hoping to see a match at Anfield if we could schedule a trip abroad. That was until I looked into getting tickets to a single match. From what I could find, unless you had season tickets or were a member of the club, the only option was to buy hospitality tickets which were well north of $500 each. I would love to see a match live, but if hospitality is my only option, I'll stay home and hope to support my team on the television.

I follow Arsenal away and in Europe, and the £20's plenty plan is a great idea, given the TV money clubs can make the exact same revenue of tickets were £20, they can't defend it anymore. My dad goes to pretty much every Liverpool match and takes me with him whenever he can. I go to around 17 away games a season and about 10 home games but I am worried this number will drop as a result of ticket prices. I went too the semi final of the FA cup with my dad and his friends this season when Liverpool played Aston Villa. At Wembley we supported the ' Twentys Plenty' campaign and turned away from the game when the clock hit 20 minutes and we turned back when a minute had passed. The people around us were interested in what we were doing so my dad explained to them, they agreed to do the same in the next game to support this campaign. Hopefully us 7 Liverpool fans just turning away from the game at Wembley could help the campaign spread to many more fans to make the clubs aware of the ridiculous ticket prices. Hopefully the prices of tickets will be lowered soon to allow young, passionate football fans like myself to go and support there team more often.

Why do you support Arsenal instead of the city you were born in? That makes no sense to me whatsoever. I'm from Coventry so I support Coventry. When I was born were in the premiership and ever since we've just got worse and now we're in league 1 and don't even own our own stadium. But there still my team and I'll support them for the rest of my life. You are from Bradford which is the north of England and you're telling me you support a team from North London? That's the problem with football, the fans have become glory hunters and chase these so called "big named teams" and more and more people want to watch them because they see them on TV than their local football team so the demand is high and the prices will stay high because people want to buy the tickets.
@Gfresh8449 жыл бұрын
Luke Hill I think it's great you support a club where you're from, but you obviously have a strong feeling for them, where as some people don't with their local team. I don't think anyone should force themselves to support a team because of the location, it should be about what team you're passionate for. Also, some people don't have a local team. For example, I'm from Milton Keynes and when I was growing up there was no team. MK Dons were Wimbledon obviously originally, so looking at things now, I will never see them now as my local team anyway. Everyone has their reasons for supporting a side, so I don't see a problem with people following a club that isn't near you, as long as you stick by them and if possible can contribute in some way towards supporting them.

As a Arsenal fan, it pisses me of that tickets to see the club I love are so expensive. It's painful that more fans go to the Emirates Cup than a regular Premier League game. But due to the ticket prices, who could blame them.

When Madrid, Man City and Roma came down to Australia to play for their friendlies here the LOWEST ticket price was $100-$120, I understand that these are very big clubs coming to a country with a very poor league but still that price is just ridiculous, mind you that's also the worst possible seat you can get with seats closest to the field going for $350-$450, just ridiculous.

It's not like they'd lose money if they did it. Put it this way. Say the stadium holds 20,000 people. On average they sell 10,000 tickets at £30 each and they sell say 5000 match programmes at £3 and 2000 drinks at £2 They could then sell 20,000 tickets at £20, 10,000 match programmes at 3 and they'd increase their food and drink sales as well. Plus what's to say those new people going who have gone to see what it's like don't choose to buy a shirt at £30-40 or even random merchandise. While they lose a little on the individual ticket price they make more back through everything else. Plus 20,000 at £20 selling out completely is better than selling 10,000 at £30 and losing the chance to sell out after all what good is empty seats?

@copa90 I have been watching your videos and love the fact that supporters own the club. I am trying to start the same football culture in California, which seems difficult but we have a huge!! Football culture, please keep posting videos on how the supporters can own the club. Thank you for your videos, I was told that passion can not pay for football but after seeing these videos I see that passion drives football! thank you.

AFMakers that might apply in the smaller clubs but Arsenal/Man U/City/Spurs sell out nearly every week so it literally makes no difference for them. Lower ticket prices at this club would make it more accessible for the fans who are less able to afford it. This would be less of a profit for these clubs though. Thats the real issue.

For the biggest clubs there is simply no reason for them to charge such high prices. TV and commercial deals make the money generated at the turnstile look like loose change. A club like Man Utd could give away season tickets for free and barely notice.

Living in the United States, I have always dreamt of going to the emirates for a game and Arsenal away games, but the system that Arsenal has set up is so dumb. To travel to away games and get tickets, you have to have a membership and only few are chosen to go. Only the fans who have the money to go to most away games get to go. In the future, I would love to watch an English Premier League game, but with prices, i don't know if I will.

Last year I was in London. I wanted to go to a Premier League match, but I realized if I want to see my team-WHU FC- in the stadium I have the pay 100 pounds. And that's was just the tickets for two adult. That's why I went to Barnet FC's match in the 5th division. Which was quite worse than a PL game but I paid 20 pounds and I supported with the home fans behind the goal. I was very disappointed, cause I never ever thought I can't watch my favourite team live. I hope the ticket prices will be down, because everybody deserve to go and watch his/her favourite team!

As an Exile Mancunian, what lives in Scarborough and a Manchester City fan of 38 years. My last City game was the first game of last season v Norwich. We was reigning champions and the atmosphere was pitful And at a Cost of 47 pound I may add. That's was it for me, my last ever City game. It was done with a heavy heart, as City is my club in my blood. But. Sick of paying ludicrous ticket prices. Silly kickoff, days and times to accommodate Sky and BT sport's. Sat with corporates and daytripping fans, overinflated transfer fees and players wages. European competition being to totally devalued, Modern Game you can keep it.

Not a big fan of football myself and this is one of the reasons why. I grew up in the 80's and watched the game evolve into what it is today - one big corporation. When I was a kid, football was for the working class. It was a treat for the weekend...an escapism from working a 40 + hour week in a job they hated and for crap money. It's simply out of the price range for the working class today. £180 for a basic ticket to watch Liverpool v Arsenal is just crazy to me and I'm fairly well off. At the end of the day, it's the free market for you. If people are willing to pay those kinds of prices then the clubs will continue charging them. There's not allot you can do about it.

Under 18 Season Tickets are £75 at the not-so-mighty Imps (Lincoln) and can be got down to about £55 through loyalty and bringing friends. £120 to students. But still far too expensive for adults (£335). My dad used to go occasionally but it was costing him £18 a game to watch conference football.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies do the same for the kids. They also have a deal (if they get in the MLS) as long as season ticket holders renew before start of new year they keep locking in previous prices, even if we are promoted.
