I'm getting really tired of this "Everyone loves MC, but they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings," trope. I don't think we should have to feel bad about dating who we want to. I was hoping that after we started dating exclusively, our other friends would get the message and back off a little. Go figure. Other then that, I thought this side quest was a little boring, except for the train ride at the end obviously, and the parts with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

Same here. It feels off that everyone loves MC even though your exclusive with one character. if it were me, once your exclusive with X character the others are locked out and become more friendly towards you but back off a bit and even tease you a bit about dating X character

It's just the bracelet, I think. Not great for Merula, since she gives you a different bracelet for your exclusive.

I honestly love Merula and she would have been my only date of all the TLSQ dating quests if she hadn't fallen in love with Jacob. (Male MC is with Penny, Female MC with Talbott [Rowan was my Ball date].)

She isn't in love with him. It's more likely she just thinks he's cool like Rakepick and was trying to make mc jealous or push them away since she was still hurting from Rakepick's betrayal. I think it's pretty clear it's mc she loves lol.
