This Monday, a California jury ordered Bayer-owned Monsanto to pay more than $2 billion to a couple that sued on the grounds that their Glyphosate-based weed killer, RoundUp, caused cancer.
On the same day as the ruling, Bayer admitted Monsanto could have kept lists on key figures, for and against Pesticides, in Europe. France has now opened a preliminary enquiry into the legality of the data collected by Bayer's subsidiary.
In light of the court's ruiling, #F24Debate asks, should glyphosate be illegal? What does its current legality say about the power of lobbyists in Brussels? Will Bayer sell Monsanto as it's ruining its share price?
