Why do I love this design? I usually don't like these sorts of kitbashes but this one is... Very well balanced and proportioned. I like it!

Back in the 90s/early 2000's, there were a few trek BBS's and some posters would make little 2D kitbashes of Federation Ships, some were pretty neat designs, but some were just saucers with like 4 secondary hulls and a bunch of cannons and Torpedo Launchers and they would have some cringey name like "U.S.S. Shadow Slayer" or "Dragons Claw", they were usually the ones who only Liked Deep Space Nine because of the "Battle Parts" and would write fan fiction about their ship single handedly stopping a Star Destroyer invasion from the Star Wars universe or something. Anyway, The Ticonderoga class kind of reminds me of some of those ships.

You should do a rematch with 3 K'Tingas. They were meant to hunt in packs and were the main reason why Starfleet refit the Constitution class. I don't think the Ticonderoga class would have a problem but it would still have its hands full.

I agree that this kitbash looks more symmetrical and proportionally balanced than other ones do. That said, with all of those high-powered sections connected by thin access corridors, the Ticonderoga would have been a nightmare for engineers. I bet that ship had more Jefferies tubes than a Galaxy class. I honestly can't even imagine how spidery all of the interconnected data and power systems would have been.

Think this was Kronos One in Undiscovered Country.. When it decloaked.. Chekov said ''shields Captain..?'", and Kirk said.. The PSP game Star Trek tactical assault had a Starfleet Dreadnought. Miranda saucer & a connection at the back with 3 warp nacelles on it.

@@RetroBadgerGaming Yeah one issue with that video game psp is the recharge rate for ship weapons. Ships have more than one weapon port . The Klingon battlecruiser has more barrage of weapons. But basically it's fire button once or twice and then wait ages to recharge no rapid fire.

A K'Tinga is outmatched by a Connie Refit by about 50%. It has zero chance against the Ticonderoga. I think 3 K'Tinga's *might* be even money.

Kinda makes you wonder what you'd get from hooking a Constellation onto a pair of post TMP era Excelsior hulls. Maybe leave the four nacelles behind the saucer but either split into two pairs to either side or leave the quad on the centerline but lift it up a bit. For that matter a single centered Excelsior hull in that last configuration sounds neat and may totally trounce this TMP version of the Ti.

Its not a ram scoop fusion rocket. Its less about sourcing fuel than it is about using stuff that's in your way and that you want out of your way regardless of whether it's used. The matter/antimatter reaction provides 200 times the power of a fusion reaction by mass otherwise they'd need way more scoop to begin with.

I don't know why you matched up what is clearly a dreadndought-weight Freddie against a standard Klink heavy. That went exactly as I expected such a lop-sided battle to go. Might have been better against a C-7 or Klingon Academy heavy battlecruiser.

Why are Star Trek modders so unoriginal? So many fan ships are just parts of popular ships all jammed together to make some giant hodge-podge design. "What if we had 3 Saucers and 18 nacelles?!?" Or "what if we had 5 engineering sections surrounding one sauce and had 10 nacelles?" Kitbashing to make fast & cheap ships for the shows has ruined Star Trek ship design...
