No Screens for One Month !!!

Our family is doing a 30 day digital detox, which means no tablets, no TVs, and limited cell phone usage for an entire month! We've done this before and took away a lot of amazing experiences from the process, so we are excited to do it again. It's crazy how tethered we can be to our devices, and it's just not healthy. We're putting everything away for the next 30 days and going to focus on the more important things in life.

I haven't had a TV in three years. At first it was super hard but I got used to it over time. I totally recommend trying it with children. I have four little siblings and after electronics were taken away we had a much better imagination. My little brother's personality also completely changed. With electronics he was grumpy, sassy, always in a bad mood, and addicted to the screen, but after they were gone he was like a new person. He's now so creative, fun, and energetic. It's crazy what screens do to some people!

@@ummekalsoom706 It is hard to take them off electronics at first. And it may take a bit for them to find fun in other activities. What I did as a teen taken off electronics was art. My younger siblings ages 1-10 played outside, rode bikes, played with toys, did art, they pretty much did any activity you can think of indoor and outdoor! If you have a park or area for riding bikes nearby you can always do that. Or if you have a sidewalk or something they can take a walk or color with chalk on it. They can even do cooking with an adult. It depends on their ages and the parents free time to watch the children. After all, electronics are used to babysit children. The fact that the kids already don't spend a lot of time on the screens is just mindblowing🤯. I feel like once I touch my phone, I try not to go on it, but then the other side of my brain says: "C'mon, just for a little bit!" and then I end up going on it for hours🙄. By watching this video, you guys have really inspired to not listen to the negative side of my brain and focus more on other things😊. Does anyone find to funny we have to be on a screen to watch them? I really love this idea though. I’m not on my tablet a lot and I don’t have a phone. I’m a bookworm like Addy and I read one book in 2 days. I really love your videos and I hope you make more like this! The only hard part for me would have been I live 6 hours from all my friends since we just moved so I wouldn’t be able to talk to them and I have a feeling if my parents did this screens challenge that they would let me text my two best friends, which is really all I do on my tablet besides watch you guys once a week.

I’m going to an acting camp this summer for two weeks away from home. I’m gonna try to not use a screen for those 2 weeks, except for utilities if I need them because it’s away from my house so my parents are going to call me. I’m excited but also nervous, because the house that we have where the camp is doesn’t have a lot of toys like my house. I’m going to try to bring some, but also do some fun things like see my cousins there, and also there’s a trampoline in the backyard. Another thing that I find hard is not checking KZbin or tiktok every day to see my favorite content creators, but I think I need to learn that I don’t need to know what others lives are like 24/7. This is so inspiring! I'm going to be more intentional about how I use devices from now on. Like get drawing or coloring inspiration then just use for music. My CD player has an issue where the cd spins and you can't hear the music over the noise of the spinning it didn't do this when I first got it :( so CD recommendation if you use them would be much appreciated.
