Starting from the back is interesting. It actually does a few things 1. Generates more viewers as most NON racers or casuals will want to see someone cut through the field like Max Verstappen 2. Allows you to practice racecraft and race pace however tires will be worn down more depending on the race. Dirty air could also be a factor. Any unsuspecting driver will either be very aggressive to maintain position or get upset and make a mistake. I used to be in that situation when I started GT7 last year. 3. Non meta cars are easier to test from starting from behind as you have slipstream, dirty air, more tire wear. Finding an alternative car to use is MUCH easier starting from behind rather than 5th and above. All of this is my own opinion and experience.

They start from the back because they are faster than most of us and have the gear to back it up!

But that's so they can have a race as well, if they start at the front it's a very boring race if you just sprint off into the sunset.

I don't understand why people get so upset how someone else plays their own game? "Why aren't you in cockpit cam?" "Why you starting from the back?" Because, that's how that person enjoys their "GAME".

@@afterthought6889 Yeah, because when I'm driving a REAL car I can't move my head from the forward position. Unless you're using VR using cockpit view is silly in GT but, if that's how you do it, then go ahead.

​@@timwhitman3207 blame the player ecosystem. the people who can shift the culture and influence development more in the direction of a proper sim prefer easy mode. and that's fine. you just don't get to call it a sim and operate solely in sim-cade mode (bumper cam, ghosting, poor sportsmanship as in the case of Tidge knocking a guy off T1 in this vid without waiting). if GT7 content creators (Tidge, Digit, heck even Hizal et al) demonstrated competitiveness in cockpit mode, development would likely trend in that direction.

Daily C has been a complete disaster so far for me at DR C. I think I have been punted on every corner, the straights and even the pits. Folks with no interest in actually racing and just interested in their finish position no matter the cost or who is in the way. Penalties are not a deterrent & I think they need to be harsher. Glad someone is having fun but certainly not for me.

Very true. I struggled to get through DR C. So many rammers and clueless driving that ruins your race. Stick with it though buddy, I got to DR B recently and, although there's still some sketchy stuff happening, it's much better overall

I did have this problem and daily race b I used to get my Dr up to B then I started doing race c more and found it better, but you still get issues now and then but not as often

Me too. I've just managed to get up to DR B. First race as a B driver I qualified in 10th and managed to finish in 9th. Was very clean, gave room, avoided quite a few collisions. At the end, both my DR and SR went down!!!!! I really don't understand this, I did absolutely nothing wrong, improved my position from qualifying, didn't hit anyone or get any penalties not even for track limits. Frustrating and annoying 😒

​@@allanpark6951 doesn't really matter what position you start, DR will only go down if you finish 9th, unfortunately. Idk how it is in other levels, but in B it's usually - top 8 DR goes up, 9th and lower DR goes down

@arturseversons3444 ahhh that's it, that's so weird cos I just did a race and came 8th and noticed everyone below me DR went down!!! And I suddenly wondered exactly that, if anything lower than 8th is an automatic downgrade. Thanks for clarifying 🙂. Just seems kinda harsh that a player could be gradually improving, racing clean and battling from the teens up to say 10th, but getting downgraded in DR each time!!

Well I would have done it completely differently. Then again I am slow and it took me a long time to make a C driver rating, so yeah... Stick with your methods...Ha Ha.
