I am so pleased to see you in an apartment with the beautiful countryside outside again. I was sad for you that you had to leave your last home with the tree tops just outside your windows. Although this apartment may not be south facing, the grassy terraces outside your window are perhaps even better than the trees were, and will reflect light back into both your apartment and your life. I was worried that you would only be able to find a new apartment that looked out over other buildings, or roads and electricity pylons. I do hope that you are more secure there than you were. You say it's in the same complex but I hope it's not the same landlord. I also admire and agree with your attitude that you need to live and enjoy your life now, not put it on hold for a future that may never happen. You can never be sure of what is going to happen or how long your future might be, so make the most of today. There is a quote from author Kay Lyons Stockham which is very true and reflects this attitude - "Yesterday is a cancelled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have - so spend it wisely." I hope you are happy and content in your new home.

A friend of mine once said, Ï'll compliment myself because not everyone is going to compliment me and I don't want to wait to anyone to compliment me." I thought that was a good thing to think about. I've spent so many years hating myself. Her words are the ones that I came back to and made me realize that I need to love and take care of myself first. So yeah. I think buying the best things for yourself even though you're single and not living in your own place is an act of self love and should be a norm.

안녕하세요! 처음 영상을 보게된 20대입니다. 미래의 내 모습이 궁금해서 인생 선배들의 삶을 엿보는 중인데요, 영상에서 참 멋진 말을 보아 댓글을 남길 수 밖에 없네요... "하지만 한 사람의 인생에서 과연 불안정하고 임시적인 시기가 있을까요?" 라는 말. 지금의 시기는 미완성같고 뭔가 더 성숙해야하고 알아야할 세상이 많아서 부담이 됐거든요. 그러나 영상을 보고 느꼈어요. 지금 이순간을 살아가는 제 삶 자체가 이미 임시가 아닌, 진짜라는 걸요. 미완성 같아보이지만, 지금으로선 수많은 과거보단 완성에 가까운 제 삶이겠구나 싶어졌어요. 잔잔하고 좋은 영상 고맙습니다.

I still haven't gotten used watching the Asian way of making Beds. In America we use the pad you put on the mattress UNDER the Fitted Sheet, as a mattress protector & then we sleep directly on the Bottom Sheet & cover up with a flat Top Sheet & a Fluffy Duvet Comforter over that. This makes it easy to take off the sheets & throw them into the washing machine often. During the day we turn down the edge of the Duvet & top sheet then stand up the pillows against the Headboard. Softness is achieved at a lower cost by purchasing Micro-Fibre Sheets (instead of Silk) The Duvets can be purchased with feathers or other nice fibres inside! When you do your weekly Laundry you can wash the sheets, vacuume the mattress & pad while they are being washed.

I noticed that too when I’ve seen a video of people from Japan or China, they don’t use a flat sheet. I think it’s good to use a flat bed sheet to also protect the bedspread or thick comforter from getting dirty or soiled from our body sweat. I know their summers are very hot and highly humid and good thing their homes have air conditioning but in the winter, it feels cozy too to have that extra layer with a flat bed sheet. I just got a new queen size bed, we had a CA for so long so we had to buy all new queen size bedding, got everything we needed including a new bed pad and JCPenney had a big sale (every little bit counts 😊). It’s a platform bed without the box spring, it feels different but still very comfortable. And more space in the bedroom. 😁

I paused the video several times to think about your ideas. I must say, they really spoke to me. Im in my early thirties and will move in a few weeks. I'm single too and constantly find myself thinking "oh I dont need this and that for just myself. When I have a partner we would get something nice together. For just me, this temporaray fix will do" . How sad... What you say about single life being viewed as some temporary situtation is very true. I like to consider myself a modern and independent woman (which on the surface I am ) and yet I can't help but thinking "I'm not quite there yet" Thank you for your inspiring and true words

I have trouble with feeling complete. Years ago my baby boy was stillborn and I was not able to have more children. After coming somewhat out of a deep debilitating depression I struggle with feeling complete. My husband loves me and that gives me strength. I have a chronic illness that has prevented me from having a full time job and I think that also adds to the emptiness I sometimes feel. My biggest problem is that I suffer from severe endometriosis and I have constant pain. I have to find ways to do the things I love when my pain is not too high. Having to constantly visit doctors office is really really hard on my mental health. But I have to do my best ❤
