Tie Dye Designs: Hemostat Mandala Ice Dye (Otten Alien)

In this tutorial video I show and explain the entire process that I used to fold, tie, and dye this cool inclined ice dyed hemostat mandala. This is a design inspired by the Patricia Otten Alien tie dyes.

Oh, WOW! I SUPER LOVE IT!!! First, I LOVE your 'surgical' shirts. With all the hemostats and red cake molds, I just see a patient on an operating table! 🤣 Love your mandalas! Secondly, the colors. angie, do you randomly just choose colors hoping they will look good together? is there something that causes you to choose colors or you just throw your hands in the air like you just don't care? i love color and sometimes i get such a mental block putting them together. good job!

I didn't choose randomly, but it did take me awhile to settle on this combination. I knew I wanted to start with green and incorporate purple and pink so I just worked with the color swatches until I could get there without creating a lot of muddiness on the shirt. I laid my colors out on a table and left them there for a couple of days. The more I looked at them, I ended up not liking a couple of the original colors I chose so I changed them out before I started. I think we all get a creative block sometimes.
