I had only seen that sleeve pulled through the other sleeve thing done hurriedly in another video and didn't know why it was done or how, but have since found a video more specific on that part. @@deanhendrix4640 Apology accepted Dean. I have successfully taught thousands of people how to tie dye and I can probably teach you too if you give me a chance. I recommend you watch days of KZbin tutorials and listen to everything that’s being said. Just because you didn’t understand, for instance this tutorial, doesn’t mean you won’t understand in the next one, or on a different channel. The more you see it the more it will make sense. Ask questions. I have a Facebook group I created dedicated to teaching and sharing tips and tricks. Monotone: a single tone, typically used to describe tonal pitch in music. Monochrome/ monochromatic: a color scheme of varying tints and shades derived from the same color. I think that is called a diminishing stack fold, as the folds get smaller with each pleat. Accordion folds have pleats which are all the same height. This is a wonderful tutorial for a simple mandala, very straightforward and effective teaching. Awesome video.

Try rolling your fanfolded pieces and dying the side instead of the top. You get amazing Kaleidoscopes.

This fold definitely does not lend itself to an easy liquid dye job. I could definitely see it being done with hot water irrigation. I'm still a liquid user, but I've done a couple ice dyes and hot water dyes on thicker folds like this. That not needing to be said, I like your dye from the side suggestion.

Have you tried Grateful Dyes' CHEAP VIOLET, it has a great turquoise split/border and is cheap by the pound.

I have not yet. I’ve only used Dharma’s dye since I went into the professional realm. I’ve seen it though and it is pretty. Raspberry splits like that. I should try one and see what happens. ❤️🌈
