In my based on extensive experience opinion, there's no better perch fly than Clouser Minnow. Using those, during a typical Swedish November day in Baltic waters I regularly catch more than a hundred perch if I stick to fishing for perch all the time. I usually switch between pike and perch fishing, though. When fishing for perch in the autumn, the secret is in keeping your fly as close to the bottom as possible and you can rarely find big schools of perch in shallow water. Typical fishing depth is 3-8 meters. My gear is: a #6 rod, a very fast sinking line (Rio's In Touch Deep 7) and a handful of 10-12 cm Clouser Minnows in various colors, tied on 1/0 hooks and with eyes of different weights. And of course I attach a very thin wire trace (i.e. 49 strands American Fishing Wire) since (big) pike are quite often while perch fishing and I find leaving your fly in pike's gill's disturbingly unethical. Regarding presented Wiggle Mylar Fly I can only say fly-fishing is not about tying spinning lures at the end of your fly line. If you want to fish twisters, a spinning or casting rod is much better tool. Pokaż mniej

The Clouser Minnow is a really good fly for several different species and There's a bunch of different versions in my boxes.... Buuuut. I could always fish a Quill Gordon, but that is truly an utterly boring. Fishing close to the bottom is essential during spring, winter and autumn but then you need to use a sinking line that by some old, contra productive to the whole scene farts is not even classified as fly fishing... Or wasn't a few years back... Who cares? Everybody can do what they want and have fun or they can take them selfs way to serious and scare of all youngsters and die alone. There are different ways to spread ones knowledge. You can be an ass or you can behave like people do to each other. It's all about the fun!

+Daniel Bergman ‘Who cares?’ Well, maybe those of us who go fishing to catch fish instead of practicing casting from the boat. I must admit, I do admire your cheek. You’ve managed to catch measly 67 perch in three days fishing in the best perch fishing water in the world. You’ve had the best equipment available at your disposal. What you’ve lacked is knowledge and experience. In my opinion, a skillful fly fisherman, should have caught more than 300 perch and possibly won the competition, just as Bauer had done in pike challenges. Fly can be as deadly for perch as it is for pike, providing you know what you’re doing. ‘It’s all about the fun!’ I couldn’t agree with you more. Fresh air and healthy exercise while casting is much fun, but it’s much more fun when you catch a lot of fish to that. You catch fish when you use proper tactics (the correct fly is a part of it). I can assure you (it’s not a joke) you’d have been much more successful fishing with a naked hook instead of that strange contraption of yours.

@@konstantyneapolitanczyk5685 I'm so late to this conversation but I have to say. Perch pro competition is about challenging yourself and your tactics and gear. It's about experimenting and finding some new ideas to bring to the hobby. I'm sure Clouser Minnow is a deadly fly for perch but people want some challenge in to their hobby. Something more complex than Clouser Minnow. Have a nice day! :)

Nja, inte direkt. De är ju dock inte jättesvåra att binda så det bör inte vara några problem att få någon att binda upp ett gäng till dig.

+Adam Tylman There must be dealers who carries Wapsis range? There are some shops in the Netherlands that buy stuff from us. Flies f.ex. If you look for Bauer flies and find a shop who carries them you can always get them to buy a drying wheel from us.
