This is awesome to see! I love hand drawn animation, it's so cool to see it simplified this much!

There's been a much higher viewer count on these videos, so I'll be doing a lot more. Once I finish messing with this scene, I'll move on to walks and runs!

@animatewithdermot please do! Seeing guides from an experienced professional is super cool and the simplification is very confidence inspiring. I'm currently following Draw a Box and plan to near copy this video at a later date :)

Krita has a great export for animation as well. The timeline can export to a PNG sequence which is perfect for DaVinci Resolve the free alternative to Adobe Premier

I'll get around to DVR one day! I'm still using Premiere (CS5.5, one of the last ones you could buy). It works a charm.

I remember the first time I saw construction lines in animation on Jungle book. Particularly on Col. Hathi . Was it a Milt Kahl thing?
@animatewithdermotАй бұрын
Not sure if it was Milt, or them just saying "fuck it, the xerox picks up the construction lines, who cares?" I remember Mick trying to let some of them in his clean up on Thumbelina, but Gary nixed it.

@ All part of Micks youthful exuberance. Beautiful cleanup.

Live action reference really upset me at first. Way more key frames than I ever imagined.

100%. I remember seeing 'Anastasia' in LA when it came out. There was a scene where the prince (John Cusack's character?) did a simple turn from left to right, about as complex as the one I've done here. All it needed was TWO keys, add an antic/overshoot, slight dip on the breakdown, the bloody thing must have had one key every FOUR frames, it just blobbed all over the place like a bad AI. Just use it as pose ref.
