The government which followed the British pursued Soviet socialism which could not bring the GDP above 3.2%. Since the change over to market economy the GDP has risen. Dr Subramaniam Swamy rightly states that India will have to improve its infrastructure and can be a developed country. But India needs to support the poor villages with the subsidy on their minimum standard of living especially the healthy living of the village women. While the targets set are high to achieve the Dream is a motivating factor. When the intention is clear and action is initiated in a corruption less substratum both the Micro and Macro levels of economy will grow.

IMF puts India GDP at current prices to be 2.9 bio USD. So even on that basis govt is envisioning to grow 10% plus annually which is a big jump from today's 6%. Rather than paint image of fudging by govt in their projection, we should probe the steps that will deliver such growth, and how the citizens can chip in to realise that. As a country the people and the government have to evolve working forums that will help realise lofty goals rather than waste time in intellectual fights

people responsible are not listening him.His all speeches clearly give a message , unless there is surplus in savings for the poor and middle class , there can be no demand, and lives reach the disastrous edge.no one of his stature favors the ruling class as much as he does. nation produced an outstanding parliamentarian,why and where is the roadblock. he is trained to sit in a hot seat with clear and cool head. it is a loss to the nation, when his vision and energy is neglected.

I don't believe Swamy's economic model is right. 1. Scrapping of income tax and raising base rates of commodities will end up paying high price for the products and services! 2. Limiting rate of interest to 9%, means low rate of interest for the depositors including retired citizens! 3. Desalination process to get water from the seas itself has lot of issues with regards to waste disposal, cost of production etc. These problems are existing in developed countries such as Canada, Australia, etc., 4. Talking of becoming developed nation as per Swamy is only possible by 2050! But why not plan 5yrs plan to reach 2050? Swamy is thinking same government will be in power which is highly unlikely. 5. Swamy didn't talk about populist programs first started by Congress since 70yrs draining hard earned money from the coffers. He should say boldly to end all populist programs and start taking responsibility in repaying loans etc., There are many faults and mistakes in his macro economic strategy. But do we have honest, nationalist political parties, which is big NO!?? Whatever is currently being done to fix economy is the right way but may need little tweaks. No country can become developed unless corruption, nepotism, aren't eradicated. Swamy has lost on all fronts but keep blabbering his macroeconomic model! India has many internal issues which needs to be seen through economic glass!
