Great job with the tiling. It looks amazing. The workmen did outstanding work. You have an eye for detail Monique and I'm glad Howard agrees ha ha. He had a good input with the cooking appliances though as he's the main cook but the whole room looks fabulous and you saved money too.

You two work together in harmony! You're the Perfect match! It's always a blessing when you get excellent contractor's, because too often, your life can quickly become a Nightmare if you choose the wrong one!!! They did Great work, and they seem like genuinely lovely people. The marble counter tops are absolutely Gorgeous! And the tiles were a Great choice to meld with the painted brick. I love how it has that slight textured "wave" to it, giving it dimension versus a standard style subway tile. At first I was kind of iffy on the gold hardwear, being that all of the appliances, & sink are silver, but I guess it makes sense, as you're trying to tie in the tone of the oak floors. Having pops of the amber color with the vases, & the glasses in your glass front cabinets helps to tie that all in. You both have a great creative eye! Congratulations on your Beautiful new kitchen! Enjoy! I would definitely LOVE to see some videos with you both in the kitchen with Howard cooking up some healthy meals that you can share with us! Monique, EVERY woman watching is Envious that you have a man that can cook like that!!! Howard really is the Ultimate man! Strong, yet sensitive, secure in his masculinity, that he can embrace a woman who is just as strong as he. And you can tell that he is a kind soul. And of course, it doesn't hurt that he is handsome as well!

Well that was worth the wait . That kitchen is fantastic ! OMG. Every detail. Love the cabinets, and loved the gold pulls. Monique- so right. I have to admit, I wouldn't have thought of it. With all of the silver appliances I would have been with Howard, but seeing the finished product. 100% with the gold. I love a good remodel, and that was very satisfying. When we remodeled our 100 year old Tudor kitchen, we went with dark kitchen cabinets to pay homage to the rest of the built in wood and mahogany molding throughout the house. We were blessed with full windows on two sides of the room and only installed one upper cabinet along with an 8x5 foot marble island. A fun project.

Everything is absolute perfection! Love every single thing about your choices. Functional and very classy options that won't be dated in a few years. I have never understood the trend of putting microwaves over the stove! I want a proper vent fan, good lighting over the stove, and a microwave at least at counter height for ease and safety of use. The drawer is brilliant! Have never seen one of those! Enjoy your amazing new kitchen! ~M~

I asked about a kitchen reveal on last video, and you delivered. Knowing how much a kitchen remodel such as yours can cost, I'm shocked that you were able to create such a wonderful space for that cost, especially in the part of the country you live. A Lowes remodel would have given you more builder grade choices and from what I understand their installers are a gamble.

THE KITCHEN VIDEO!!! I love it. I am not a huge white kitchen fan, but, the wood floors bring a ton of warmth into it!! I love all the finishes you selected. I mix my metals too :). Colby really had to get himself into that video :)... He is a special boy. :) I could not believe it when you said the cabinets alone were going to be $75k. Wha? Insane. Glad you guys figured out how to get it done more reasonably. Not bad considering how you moved around doors and windows. i also acted as my own General Contractor when I did my remodel and I know it saved me a ton. I did a $20k minor remodel on my kitchen back in 2012 when the house was only ten years old. What I did with cabinets is have new doors put on and cabinet ends (he only had to stain wood in a couple of places because the new doors he finished in his workshop (and he distressed them for me) were 98% coverage). That was $6k for totally different looking cabinets and helped make my kitchen look French farmhouse (very warm). The pain of it was all hammered out in his workshop and he just showed up and installed them (he did the same treatment on the cabinets for all my bathroooms). Anyways, the $20k included new appliances, new stone flooring, quartz countertops, new sink and faucet. I did not go super high end on appliances as I did a Bertazoni stove/oven and Kitchenaid fridge. I am happy with that though because I am coming up on a replacement cycle which will be painful enough (with the inflation). At the time I did major remodels on 2.5 bathrooms and the kitchen was an afterthought; but, the whole thing was an afterthought because I really was only thinking of new tile and toilets (and $65k later I had the kitchen and 3 bathrooms). YOUR KITCHEN IS DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. It's pretty and you can tell how functional it is.

The kitchen turned out fantastic. I see why it took so long to post the post remodel vid. I do remember you saying somewhere in time, about getting rid of the side door etc. Turned out brilliant! We have an area that has an upper cabinet & free standing credenza style cabinet below it. That wall screams for actual floor to ceiling cabinets & I love the glass fronts! That would be a great time to rid ourselves of the chicken wallpaper a prior owner chose. lol Your range top is like one I had in my last California house, I love those! One of the center pieces flipped to become a griddle. I think many of us would choose the micro as well.
