This is the type of player that Arsenal needs. An extremely defensive midfielder that isn't afraid to play defense when it's needed. We have many attacking options in the midfield (Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey, Diaby). We just lack that one player in the midfield that thinks of defense before attack. With him, there won't be as much pressure on the back 4 because it will almost be like we're playing a back 5.

His main position is CDM but he can play really well at CB is well which shows how good a versatile defender he is + Barca are looking at signing him to replace Keita which goes to show that this kid is quality!!!

This guy seems like a very good defensive middle field who can play in defense in in mid providing good passes. M'villa in comparison is a true holding defensive middle field with aggresiveness and brilliant vision and long passing. Eith one could be good but I would go with m villa

Simple, when we want to play more defensively we can have both Song & Capoue in front of the CB's, with both taking their turns to go forward, otherwise play them 1 at a time. Start of the window i was hoping for Sahin, Capoue, Gamerio, Konoplyanka, Vertonghen + a back-up GK, hopefully we can get the 1st two.

Capoue is a midfield destroyer, has unbelievable strength.. where as M'Vila imo would suit arsenals style better, reminds me of Song, intercepts play and sets up attacks, has very very vwry

When he's on form he is a game winner, you saw it against Chelsea. West Ham were 1 - 0 down and then in the second half he comes on and West Ham win 3 - 1. But I agree, he is inconsistent and even makes bad passes sometimes that can end up with a counter attack from the opposition that ends up in a goal.

M'Villa is a much better positional defender i.e. he will sit in front of the back four and distributes very well. Which is really what Arsenal need. In my opinion, a lot of the problems the Arsenal defence had last season was due to not having a midfielder who would shield the back line. M'Villa would do this. Capoue is more of a box to box player. On an individual level, I agree with u that he is better than M'Villa. He reminds me a bit of Viera. And he intimidates the opposition. Get em both.

I am a massive fan of Song, so when Wilshere comes back I am unsure where his place would be. I would prefer Mvila if he wasnt so expensive. I think we have enough there with frimpong and coquelan and diaby and ramsey. I would like to see some defenders to cover what we have. A cover RB and a CB or two.

I agree. Look at all the BPL teams in the top 6 besides us. Liverpool have Lucas Leiva,Chelsea have Mikel,Man U have Carrick,Spurs have Sandro,Man City have Yaya Toure. We are the only team without a real defensive midfielder, Arteta is a decent player but not really a DM and in all honesty he's having a piss poor season even ramsey is outshining him.

I think Wenger needs to show interest in some fake targets before he eventually goes after his real targets, because we know far too well, that Tottenham are just patiently waiting to figure out who Wenger is going for next so they can hi-jack the deal. No surprise Tottenham also want Capoue. Capoue would be a huge piece in the jigsaw puzzle for Arsenal winning trophies again.
