What sucks the most about Lucius being so bad is his lore is so good. I rember listening to the tales of maulifaux broadcast focused on his origin and I genuinely thought it was the best I have listened to so far. The curiosity in him, the abuse he suffers, how it ties into the guild and its inner workings and the characters thst would latter make up the witness keyword is so well done. I almost wish lucius could hire witness models into his crew because of the lore. Basically him forsaking the guild and never born to lead the witness crew instead of raven. It would still be worse then having Damien, but giving him that would at least be a consolidation for Lucius.

I think not putting both iterations of Damian higher on the A tier if not S is a hot take. I'd like to know more about that than anything else, and perhaps my bias is because any time I've seen or heard about him on the table it's been an absolute roll. Coming from Nova, having won all but one game he was played in, and then his only loss coming from Hoff 2 piloted by Haku, am I just missing something about how to play against both versions of the master?

A ton of those wins came from Haku running that crew for most of his 10x matches @ masters then @ the open... I think 8x of his 10x rounds across the 2x events he ran Wittness. Some of this feels like people not understanding HOW witness plays and not having reps against them ... BUT I do agree with you in that he's VERY powerful. He does seem pretty weak to ranged crews and some other point weaknesses. But time will tell ... esp with the 5x other new keywords about to drop.

Cody from the NC meta also ran a BUNCH of wittness ... Cody + Haku made up the majority of those placements. So 2x really good players running him ... your point is still valid though.

Since then I've been spinning my wheels about how to come up with a means to win against it (and definitely think I have some ideas), but I think in the hands of a savvy player, Damian 1 has one of if not the safest alpha strikes in the game, and Damian 2 just has so much going on on his card, and redirect magic on a master is just waaaay good. I certainly think that time will tell, and I am definitely am ready for this new book to drop (I play bayou and those clampett models look like they'll be a blast to build paint and play with!)

@@dougbrecher5677 I actually played Cody during the Open GT and actually the hardest part for me to deal with was not being able to ban the Scorpius (since it wasn't a ban format and I played Brew 2 vs Damian 1). But strictly considering the invitational, which is the cream of the crop of players by US Faux Tour ranking at least, to have one master go 9-1 and essentially take first and third because of it does speak the the strength of the master and keyword. But I agree, as time goes on and new releases and changes are made to the game we will see a more accurate view on the master.

@@johnmoser6617 my thought + hope is that as these 5x other keywords drop the tables will balance a bit. Also, I have found crews with a good critical density of guns can often shoot core models off of the board and disrupt the Witness game plan. I bet Ma' Tucket FT: 3x bush whacker spam would do OK vs him if ur playing V. Witness out of Bayou. Guns + Stealth.

I actually think sandeep title is a lot better this GG as it forces people to bunch up and you know where they're going a lot of the time. so being able to slap down a lot of pyre markers in your opponents face

Is there any good way to handle Kaeris engaged with Nekima or anyone with flight? She can only disengage.

Guys malifaux noob here love your stuff really helpful. Collette 2 routine performance attacking through her doves does she get effected by vengeance and all them type of abilities, defensive triggers ,conditions etc ?

Cackle has been ruining people with lucius still so he cant be THAT bad. Raspy2 is leagues better than Mei1.

Cackle is a TOP player globally ... that dude can win with Molly2 and make her look busted. One of the many many things I love about this game ... player skill > anything else.

correct, the bois swapped positions on him ... it should be the other way around
