Mari, you have me laughing with you as you describe the pattern!😅 Pom Poms and door knobs!😮😮😮😅

It’s so true tho. Especially the doorknob thing. My pockets always get caught on them and it’s super annoying 😂

Thanks, Mari! Have to chuckle at some of your viewpoints on these patterns!

That wa so fun! I pretty much agree with all your ratings, especially that ridonkulous button disaster one. Wth were they thinking? ❤

I actually liked the giant polka dots on that top ☺

I have to admit that I’m not a fan of them in general so it makes me very biased. 😜 there’s lots of polka dot lovers out there like you ☺️

Alice and I had a great time watching your videos. We both decided you are in a very generous mood today - we put the last few vintage patterns in the E category 🤣 Can't wait to see your next video

I was giggling like you at that last one with the buttons - like who the heck would wear something like that?!!
@MariSews6 ай бұрын
The only thing I could think of k of is that it was originally released in the days when women would stay at home then change before their husband came home. Just button on a skirt or something. I don’t see how that would be useful nowadays so why’d they rerelease it? Maybe for our giggling pleasure
@normacooper63776 ай бұрын
I think the skirt of B6989 intended to be used as a cover up for the shorts. At one time women never wore shorts in public-even wearing skirts for playing tennis or golf. Also, in the era of the original rereleases Jackie Kennedy & her sister were fashion trendsetters, both very thin women, so many patterns and RTW designs were created for that body style. 😊

Who knew that side seam pockets will now be called door knob pockets. 🤣 I ordered a couple of these patterns and once again they are in the boring section. 😮 ❤

But the question is…Did you get patterns with door knob pockets?

I would hack the shorter sleeve version into a easy cardigan with a zipper and the band or open without the band maybe even longer. Love the sleeve.
@MariSews6 ай бұрын
@@heatherthrone9999 great idea!!!
@theresaanndiaz31796 ай бұрын
The only thing the first pattern had going for it is the sleeve, I probably wouldn't buy it. I can't imagine needing to use a pattern for a tier skirt or the tiered rickrack dress. I do like the cargo pants, and they would fit my life. I would buy 6996, it has nice details, I usually like Palmer\Pleish . patterns. The two A-line tunic tops look like patterns I already own. The tent dress looks like a house dress I had in the late 70s. I don't do vintage because of my age, it just makes me look like I never updated my look ( even if I was too young for it originall).They are cute though. I owned a bright yellow double knit dress in the 60s when I was in Jr. High like the tent dress.
@MariSews6 ай бұрын
Oh, I bet you were so adorable in Jr High. Those cargo pants were really nice tho. I’m still thinking about them.

B7002: D, for a pear shape. With a belt, maybe a B. It looks like the sleeves could make a pear shape look like a big bubble. Also, the pockets on the hips are a big no.
@MariSews6 ай бұрын
I’m thinking the sleeves are one of those love it or hate it situations. I did question those pockets but decided to let them slide…☺️

1st time seeing ur videos & subscribed straight away 😁 it would of been better if u had said the size range hun 🙏 the one I WILL BE BUYING is 6996 love love love ❤️ this top & u could make it into a Cardi if ya want but definitely gonna make this top 😁 thank u for sharing these with us best wishes to u & ur family from the UK 🇬🇧 xx

Thanks, the size range would be easy to mention. I’ll make a note to add it in. 6996 would make a fantastic cardigan!!! Great idea
@kimt2au6 ай бұрын
I am rather taken with 6998 and with 6996. However I would want to look more closely at the construction of the sleeve in 6996 as it looks like it is getting caught and hitching up at the cross over / apex of sleeve cuff.
@MariSews6 ай бұрын
I’m willing to bet that 6996 is a dolman with a gigantic armscye

I Actually don't mind you bashing certain patterns, it's totally ok, thanks god not everyone has the same taste in fashion. I often disagree with your choices but ultimately, it's all about personal aesthetic, fabric choice, lifestyle, demographics, and body shape. So many parameters to take in consideration. I'm French, our National sport is to argue, analyse, contradict, without ever fighting or taking things seriously. No reason to be offended, as you say, just bring your opinion on the discussion so we can have some fun...
