Hello,which glue do you use. Thank you for reply
@TeiRen20126 жыл бұрын
I've always been afraid to use glue but lately I've been considering it. I've had sew-ins but because my own hair is thick, course and grows fast, my new growth locks up at the roots so I lose a lot of hair during take down. I realistically shouldn't keep a sew-ins longer than 5 weeks but I can't afford to pay to get my hair done that frequently so I stopped getting sew-ins. I have made my own clip-ins before and they look great. I've been thinking of just wearing clip-ins or contemplating doing the glue because my hair is so thick under the braid down. I also don't like the fact that I can't get to my scalp and really clean my own hair with a braid down sew-in. After watching this video and reading this comment, I feel more comfortable using glue. It seems the sew-ins have the effect that I feared the glue would. A glue-in seems like it is something I can easily do myself and not have to spend a fortune getting a sew-in. It also seems like it would be easier to get to my scalp, take it down and wash my own hair every week and then put the glue-in back in. I think I will be doing a glue-in very soon!

Two weeks ago I watched your video on how to put in a glue in quick weave, I had never done that before, actually I’ve never put a weave in before. But I had some extra hair from having a sewing done and I decided I was going to try it. I followed your steps it really came out very nice I got a lot of compliments. Today I took it out using a cheap conditioner I bought out of the dollar store it worked fabulously, the hair just fell off of my hair, I sustained no breakage. I washed and deep conditioned my hair and tonight I put in my second glue in and the second one came out better than the first. The one thing I always do is a deep conditioning once a week. My hair Is stronger than 6 months ago and this is givin it an opportunity to rest. Thank you so much for the videos I am a new subscriber👍🏾😃

Tierra, everything that you said in this video is true. This is the method that I used as a young woman back in the early 90's when I first learned about taking out my weave. I only wore weave occasionally, but this is the correct way to take out glued-in weave and just like you, my hair didn't break off nor did my edges. The one thing that I love about you and your channel is that you are very knowledgeable about hair and very gifted as well. God bless you baby and keep doing what you are doing. :)

I used glue in high school and my 20s. Glue does not take your hair out. Snatching the tracks out without putting the proper solution on it first takes your hair out. People are impatient and pay the price of for it. But its their choice...But it worked great for me. I let my conditioner and oil sit on my hair and wore a plastic cap for about 2 or 3 hours(sometimes overnight with deep conditioner) and the bundles just slid out so soft and easy. I hate when people comment negatively due to lack of knowledge.

I used to use the 70%rubbing alcohol (soaking cotton balls and saturating the tracks) it breaks the bond instantly and would literally take less than 15 mins from start to finish to remove a whole head of tracks (I would run a fine tooth comb through my hair after slipping all the tracks off to make sure all the glue was out which it usually was) then I would immediately wash and deep condition my hair afterwards. P.S. You can also soak the tracks in the alcohol to clean the glue off so you can reuse the tracks.

Tierra J, you are so right about using conditioner instead of oil to remove the glue. That glue and oil makes a mess and if any falls on cloth or carpet, it's impossible to clean. Newbies need to remember when choosing a conditioner for track removal, the conditioner needs to contain alcohol. Alcohol removes the surface tackiness and causes the glue to seize together on the track. It also keeps the glue from sticking to your on comb. In desperate times, I've used straight alcohol for removal, but prefer the added benefits that comes from using a conditioner.

Omg, I didn't know this was an old school thing. I started gluing my extensions 4-5 years ago. My hair started getting thinner and thinner every year, it's genetic. So I bought clip ins because the tape ins I got weren't full enough for my head. Mind you, at the time I was in Cosmetology school and they NEVER talked about hair extensions, all my school focused on was perms for the old ladies and blow-outs. That's it! Fine. So anyway, the clip ins were TOO thick for my head, they were 280 grams, and I'm naturally about 120-140 grams. I was UNEDUCATED about that subject, so I had to learn on my own as I went along. So one day I sat there frustrated and thought: is there another way I could wear these? And I took off the clips and noticed how the extensions had 2-3 rows. Me being the curious person that I am, I got my seam ripper(I also sew) and undid the extension and noticed I was left with a weft. I went to Sally's to get a bunch of bottles of glue..for eyelashes...and then I see it there, on the counter: Hair glue. I knew it was a sign from above that I could glue the extensions on my head. People say I'm crazy once they find out, but it is the only way I can feel comfortable, not to mention confident! Later on I started watching youtube videos and let me tell you, we owe the black community for ALL the hair extension methods out there! (And everything under the sun.) Now some people are out there talking about this new "hand-tied extensions" method, like girl, that's a sew-in!!! 👏👏👏👏

Such a great video! I'd also like to add if you do use oil and you get that crazy goopy consistency with the glue dishwashing liquid is really good to get it to come out. It lifts oil anyway on dishes, and after the glue is mixed in with the oil the dishwashing liquid grabs hold and lifts it right out. The glue changes to a weird consistency once you add the liquid, but it works. I know dishwashing liquid sounds awful, but if you do a deep conditioning treatment afterwards your hair will feel great! I've had the liquid glue neverending nightmare before lol.

I use oil sheen to take out my tracks when it’s glued in and it slips right out but I’ll try using conditioner next time 👍🏼

Preach. I'm 34 and been gluing my tracks on and off since I was 16 and my hair and scalp is fine. I actually start having thinning edges when I stated sew in's.

Yes Teirra! I bought the hair you used in this video,for a sew in that I'm going to do for my sister this weekend. Can't wait to see the end result. You have helped me so much. Keep up the great job. You are the best! I ordered the hair dryer and flat irons you use because I never really used a flat iron a lot. Girl you have inspired me so much. You make me wish I went to beauty school instead of the medical field I felt pressured from family & friends to do. I really wish I went into a field that I first had a lil talent for and had passion & love for. Hey it's never too late to learn. Love you girl! Hey in the first video for this hair you said you burnt the hair. What temperature was too high for this hair and what temperature do you recommend for this type of hair? Thanks!

Tierra J, You are amazing! I have never had extensions, but while doing research on how to remove glue from hair I came across this video. I LOVE it. You are so delightful. Continue being your magical self ok. =)

I don't care what all these people say I'm gonna bond my hair and remove it. I got really healthy hair strong hair and I'm on my 3 big chop because I will not tolerate anything but curl. I use to use that 60 second remover but I'm gonna put you on. Found it at Sally's it's the FUSION glue remover. Has some alcohol and some acetone and it removes it literally while you're still applying it. THEN I comb it out with a fine tooth comb and it's done. Shampoo with the 60 seconds recommended shampoo and that's it. I promise promise please try it. It's a white bottle with a light green label at Sally's right where they have everything for fusion and it's like $7 bucks
