Their ability to alert others of incoming threats is vital in a server like Africa. And even then, they pose little to no threat to any allies of other species since they grab higher resources. As for my two cents on why more builds don't follow the Giraffe style, I'd say that it probably takes a ton of skill points to reach the point where height shows its full advantages, and other players are unable to put enough points into growing tall enough to copy the Giraffe without neglecting other critical upgrades that would end their game early.

@@jampacc Well of course there are different amounts of cervical (7), thoracic (12), lumbar vertebrae (5) and a sacral leg (5 synostosed into one bone) and a coccyx (animals with tails have more coccygeal vertebrae, some humans have 5 and some have only 3; animals with long tails like dogs have more than 20) Some animals have lumbar vertebrae as thoracic vertebra and sacral vertebrae as lumbar vertebrae, so they have a few more or less of those, but cervical vertebrae are always 7 no matter how long or short the neck is. There are also holes between the vertebrae, where nerves get out from the spinal chord. These are called intervertebral foramen and every IVF-nerve innervates a specific skin areal (somatosensitive), called dermatopes and innervates a specific muscle (somatomotoric) there is also the parasympathetic (viscerosensoric and -motoric; only in the cranial brain: brain nerves (III, VII, IX and X) and the sacral IVF-nerves. The sympathetic nerves only comes from the thoracic and lumbar IVFs. Also many nerves have different qualities and different IVF-bases and come/project from/to different brain cores. Neuro anatomy is incredibly complex and I have still so much to learn 🙇🏻‍♂️ P.S.: excuse my bad grammar, I am German.

The best thing about TierZoo is that, as goofy as the presentation is, its actually a surprisingly interesting analysis of the evolution of life on Earth. The in depth analysis of "gameplay", comparing "playstyles" and all the apparent minutia that comes from the gaming community. Its always startling to remember that all that bullsh*t parallels real life so closely. That the daily struggle for life on this planet is so closely comparable to a *game.* Outside is the scariest videogame, for sure xd

'God did it' without further explaination is pretty much identical to 'we have no idea' in practice, after all (regardless of one's beliefs regarding the truth or lack there of of such a claim), and the 'further explaination', when present, is usually at least as defective as any explaination of Evolution that I've ever encountered, often more so.

I'd guess it's because trunks serve the same purpose, but are much easier for mammals to support. We don't have the more efficient birdlike breathing system that dinosaurs did, which allows them to have massive necks without running into that whole snorkel problem. Basically they chain all their air sacs together so they effectively have all of it as lung volume to push the old air out their neck.

@@cem_kaya Its definitely viable and by far the greatest of the tank builds in terms of pure defensive stats, but near AFK playstyles arent for me personally. And unlike most whale species theyre rather solitary and dont travel in pods of multiple whales, so its a pretty lonely life once you reach maturity just sucking up krill as you float at a relaxed pace between the arctic and equator, no real pvp either other than the human ship and fishing net dodging minigames. But all that being said, its certainly one of the easiest builds to accrue one of the highest experience point totals in history by the end of your playthrough once you do reach adulthood.
