As someone who is divorced and has a career, I have been through those moments. I had an older friend who was like a second mom tell me "so and so who just walked out the door is single and has lots of money...." It was kind of funny, because it turns out the guy is about 10 years younger than I am. And I told her that I have my own money, so I don't need to go after someone else's. But I do need someone who can support himself, the way I support myself. For so many years men were taught that we needed them, and they needed to support us. Now that we can support ourselves, they have to bring other things to the table, but one of them is still take care of themselves. She's just watching out for herself, you can't blame her. There are so many men out there who will take advantage of a woman with good credit
