Tiff - a few decades ago, a lady called Shirley Conran wrote a book called Superwoman. She advised that when things get too much, you plan 2 consecutive rest days for your nerves. Cosy bed, low light, minimal light reading, light meals. So you go for it. Then plan to go back to normal but with minimal stimulation/stress. You're doing all the right things. Waiting is the worst. Get back to us when YOU are ready and not before. You're surrounded by people who love you. 💟 Mary x ❤

That is really interesting because that is exactly what I do when I get stressed and burned out. I never realised it was 'a thing'"! I tend to overwork, sixteen hours a day every day, no days off. Most of the time, it's fine but I get exhausted and depressed, so I take a day out and just sleep, rest, play videos and drink tea in bed. And then I wake refreshed and feeling reset.

A current medical professional with a genetic condition (and chronic EBV… which I never even knew was a thing until my doc called me with blood results), I do not like to research my own conditions and I don’t suggest it for others. I prefer to just get the info, when I need it, from my various doctors. There is too much on the internet and it’s often to worst case scenarios that are shown first…. That is just me, but I e found it quite helpful.

It's a slippery slope and a scary one. Remaining positive is hard. I don't think we should judge her reaction in the face of such devastating news. Kudos to her for being positive. With stage 4 colon cancer, patients can live for years, especially if they respond well to treatments, and nowadays there are so many options to choose from. In rare cases where metastases are limited and treatable, long-term remission or even cure can occur :)The fact that they have a plan for treatment shows that the doctors have not given up, so don't give up either! All the best and fingers crossed 💙💙

I was diagnosed with colon cancer at 29 ! I thought it was my appendix. After having surgery chemo for six months I was cancer free! I'm now 59 . My oncologyst told me I had a higher power looking after me. So never give up ! ❤

You need to look at colon cancer with the facts. Stage 4 is the last stage. And yes you can survive, but it is the most serious. I had stage 2 , others I met that had stage 3 and 4 Breast cancer are not here. I met plenty of women during chemo each week that didn’t make it. I believe colon cancer has a better survival rate. From the people I met, and my own experience.

It depends on a lot of things, most of all how well your type of cancer responds to the treatment. She has a very god team of doctors and they have been monitoring her closely for changes to catch progression early. Nothing is written in stone, and it's very important to keep the hope :)

Going between both these two ladies stories is so emotional! 😥 It is so tragic to know that people get sick, but then to also see it in such young people while surrounded by their family!- it is so heartbreaking! I also have so much respect for these two (Tiffany and Eíreann) and other YTers out there who document their journeys. It is very eye opening. I also find it makes me more empathetic to other humans in general, as you realize that there are so many millions of people out there, and you can appreciate that you are not alone, but that everyone has journeys of their own, and that they have families that love them and that both happiness and sadness affect everyone! You are doing well Tiffany! As a fellow cancer patient, I understand the emotions. It is good to be able to do some things by yourself. I do and have my own solid routine and there is other times when I utilise the help others are always eager to give. I commented on the last video how different the procedures are with PET scans for you in the UK compared to me in Australia. It continued today. Once I’ve had the dye, it’s also administered on the other side of a hole in the wall, I have to stay really still lying down in a darkened room. There’s cameras and if you are moving too much they remind you to be still so you get optimum FDG uptake, you aren’t allowed to use your phone unless it’s just set at the beginning, like I listen to an audio book if I’m not watching TV but I’m not allowed to hold a phone! It’s so interesting!

Agreed. I'm in Texas and I get put in a small room, you lie down and relax with a warm blanket for 1 hour after getting the dye injected. You shouldn't even be sitting up as she was, as I can imagine it would affect the distribution of the dye across your body.

Things that I learned in life is to give yourself permission to grieve/cry with no apologies; deal with life on life's terms; allow others to have their feelings without trying to protect them. Overall, be true to yourself. For some reason, I connect with your energy, and I feel deeply for you and your struggles and disappointments even when you try to cover them up. Life is often unfair, but we have no other choice but to flow with the Universe. I feel that life has been unfair to you; such a beautiful person. Life has also been unfair to me. Snap out of it! You Got This!! You've Been Through Worse! Your Mind can be your worst enemy.....Do what makes you happy! You do You! Be around people, play music, watch fun movies! Go out for walks. Best thing I did was get a pet! It lowers your anxiety and blood pressure and calms you. It releases good hormones that make you feel better. Either a cat or dog would make you feel so good. Life has its ups and downs. We've done this before. 😊

Don’t be hard on yourself - everyone has different struggles that we know nothing about. I, too, have emetophobia and although it stops me going out for meals, being near people who are ill etc, I am not agoraphobic because of it and my heart goes out to you. Be kind yourself, too ❤

Tiffany ask your Oncologist about icing your hands and feet during chemo infusion. It can limit nerve damage by limiting circulation to your hands and feet (the chemo is basically restricted from those areas) during the process because the veins restrict when they are cold. It has really helped people get through chemo with less side effects. I bought my cousin a warming blanket for her torso while her hand and feet were kept really cold during her infusions and it worked well for her. Keep your head up sweat heart we are all praying for you.

Hi lovely Tiffany. I'm listening to you. My father is 94 & has prostate cancer,I know it's a different thing in his case, he has hormone injections every 3 months & his has shrunk luckily. He had a full body mot in hospital, my sister & I lov our dad & help him anyway we can. Ido think these things are here to test us.i had asthma so bad from the age of 4 into my early 30s. I have myoclonic dysonia now. I spoke to my dad when I was younger as in the 60s, treatment for asthma was in the early stages. I had to have suppositories & at 8 yrs old, that really freaked me out & aminopholine injections into my veins, I was mentally sick & scared as my breathing was so bad. Now my asthma eased off & I can cope with my dystonia. I learnt whatever hits you is a test of your strength & we cannot do anything about it, but keep pushing through. I really hope & pray that you like me get through this & enjoy te good ti es ahead with your darling matt, ammar and the rest of your family & friends & all the people here that are so kind & wish you nothing but the best. Many of us in your stsge 4 cancer supporter group know the roller coaster ride you are on. Tiffany just look the worst case scenario in the face and then be the girl warrior that you are! Worst case scenario is that your colon cancer is now in two lung nodules and in cardinal (a very serious area) lymph node in supraclavicular area. Your medical team will plan best treatments and you will join in working with the chosen treatment to best advantage. That is the reality of the chronic cancer that you have that the cancer can at any time raise it's ugly head! If this is the reality you face after receiving Pet results then go for it Tiffany. You can do it. We will all be here to listen and boost you up!! ❤️ cancer is not your choice path but is part of your life. Keep living each day with joy and determination.

My Therapist told me one time, that i should let my husband décide if or not he will be at my side. I don't have cancer, but a few health Problems. But i am also a person who does not ask for help. When the batteries in the remote are getting low I open the back and turn the batteries in place. It seems to jack up the power for a bit longer. Works for me! Haha I feel the same way about bananas, if I’m travelling and don’t really have an appetite I will have a banana.

It didn't come back in a short time. Those few cells were most likely always there but were undetectable until they had grown.

Why has no one explained to Tiffany how stage 4 cancer works? For cancer to spread, it’s already in the lymphatic system / blood. If she were more knowledgeable on her situation, she wouldn’t have to contend with these shocks. Surely that would help her. The Royal Marsden is supposed to be the best there is when it comes to cancer.

She knows everything about Stage 4 cancer. Some people remain ‘No evidence of disease’ for a long time. We are all praying for the best possible outcome.

Tiff definitely hasn’t had lymphatic or blood cancer - she had colon cancer and a nodule in her lung. This possible lymph node is a new thing. I’ve watched all her videos, she definitely hasn’t had lymph node issues before 💙

Cancer that is stage 4 becomes stage 4 because it has spread through the lymphatic system or blood. This obviously does not make it blood cancer or lymphatic cancer, it remains colon cancer that has simply spread through these routes. This is absolute basic knowledge.

Her commentary suggests she doesn’t understand. It is up to her how little she wants to understand her situation but I would have thought it would help her to know the basics. Knowledge is power, it doesn’t stop her from remaining positive. Yes, you can remain cancer free for years with the correct monitoring and treatment (and I hope she does) but there will always be the risk of recurrence.
