As a Hong Konger I can only continue to hope. With the Asian games just being completed and us getting to the semi's I can only hope that we will get the funding we need to actually push Hong Kong football back up. Because as fans we love our team so much, it's the last place we can funnel our nationalism. We are afraid of losing our sense of identity. Our city is small and I myself have friends in around the national team set up from the U16 teams to the mens team. We all just love football, the 2023 Asian Games brought the fire that we used to have pre covid and our hope has been revitalised with younger players like Tim Chow and Micheal Udebuluzor I really hope we give football one last push before Hong Kong Football ceases to exist and it's echoed through each stadium with the famous chant 'We are Hong Kong' Thank you giving a voice to those who lost it Tifo. 繼續寫歷史

A famous Hong Kong vs China match that is often neglected in these videos other than the 519 incident and the 2018 qualifiers -- in the 2006 WC qualifiers, China needed to beat Hong Kong by 8 goals to qualify. Hailing from Hong Kong, I am a bit disgusted by how the CCP tries to jam their propaganda down our throats, even down to football, where it is supposed to unite our people. We are facing an identity crisis here, I've worked in the mainland, and I like the Chinese people, but have strong distaste about their government. To be encroached by this forcible "nationalism" is frankly very unpleasant, especially when Hong Kong and China share different values and culture. I can only hope this Chairman's term would end soon and a new, more liberal one will be assigned in the near future.
@canto_v1211 ай бұрын
I trust that as the political situation in HK stabilises the cops will stop watching this closely. It’s fallout from the 2019 unrest IMO. They’re looking for indirect ways that people had been using to organise seditious events or violent gatherings. I’m sure the average HK cop would rather spend his or her day doing something more rewarding than watching a football crowd sing the national anthem.

Both should not be handed to any other foreign countries. Our self-determination right was denied by the UN which has so much to answer for. Only the new territories part was leased in 1898 for 99 years, by Manchuria Empire not China because China (1912-) wasn’t even born in this world yet. So people should avoid using “return back to China” but handed over to China.
