The answer to the rocket question is probably wrong. It depends on the number of rockets you have thrown. And if the number of rockets thrown is very large, than the probability goes to 0.0036. Can someone please share their solution.

I have only ICTS-TIFR,IMSc, HRI Interview experience. Solve Griffith problems , TIFR GS previous year, LIM series......LIM SERIES problems are very helpfull.👍

Adding my opinion to Kuldeep's reply, i recommend first reading the book which you studied in B.Sc/M.Sc. Read it thoroughly and you will gain new insights. Then you must also look other books.

Please don't call anyone 'Sir' in academics. The questions are application based. They sometimes might ask you to solve numericals but they will not be straight formula based. Also it depends on your choice of subject. But theoretical and numerical questions are in good balance generally.

Helo sir can you provide me the exact % qualification number to qualify tifr-gs written exam? Means how they short list student on the basis of written exam as they don't release any cutoff.. Or is it a conspiracy that a single incorrect answer leads to disqualification or less attempt like 12-15 correct question without doing any incorrect attempt are enough.

Agar interviewer maan jata hai to tum hindi, madrasi, bangla, gujarati kisi bhi language me de sakte ho interview. Kuldeep bhai has replied in one of the comments that yes you can give, even the professors said ki they are comfortable in hindi, Kuldeep interviewed in english.

What books should one refer to for classical mechanics part?

This question has no correct answer. You may ask which books did Kuldeep refer for Classical Mechanics. I will let him answer that. There are plenty of brilliant books but the standard books such as Goldstein are necessary and sufficient. Ultimately the way you study is more important than the choice of your book. The more problems you practice the better your understanding is.

For gravitation problems I used to solve David Morin's book. And I never ever read Goldstein. I used to follow JC Upadhyaya. Reason was, Classical Mechanics was in my first sem of MSc at that time my english was very very weak. Before joining IIT Delhi I used to read books in hindi. JC Upadhyaya used easy English . So, I used to read his book.😀😀😀 Don't see solution.... It will force your mind to think ...... It will make you different from others 👍

Yes, you can always do so if the interviewer is comfortable with the language. Agar unko hindi nahi aata tab aapko english hi use karna padega.
