People should speak English in America, it's the language of the land...Every sign on every street and highway in this country is in English...How can anyone NOT speak the language here is amazing to me...You can't go to any other non English speaking country, and not know the language. Oh my gosh! Yessssss! My youngest son was OBSESSED with the garbage trucks when he was 2 until about 5. He’d wake up at 5 A.M. to watch the garbage truck pick up the garbage. Then he’d smile and wave! Or, if we happened to pass one while driving in the car, and I didn’t look in time to see it, oh boy was I in trouble!! My son would get so frustrated. I had a co-worker that had a lady in her apartment complex that watched her son and a couple of other toddlers there during the week. Since she had limited English, she only spoke Spanish to the kids. My co-worker's son picked up quite a lot of Spanish quickly for a couple of years before entering grade school. She'd marvel at him all the time when they'd be out and about when all of a sudden, he'd speak Spanish at stores, movie theaters, etc. I wish I could have total language immersion 8 hrs/day, 5 days/wk. ☺💭🇮🇹🇫🇷🇷🇺🇩🇪🇪🇸🌻

Actually in Ellen's old sitcom she could speak Spanish. There were scenes where she was learning Spanish with her friend. In her talk show, earlier season like in 2006, there were segments where Ellen was in a Spanish class too lol she was just going along with the banter here.
