hey there Jesse !awesome video! I noticed you dont do the "Ball" in the tip of the tungsten.. and u weld this awesome.. how's that? can u explain me a bit? because others suggest the Ball tip. thank u greetings from Argentina!
@jessemccollum3 жыл бұрын
With the inverter based welders you can adjust your frequency unlike transformer based machines. This allows you to keep a nice point for quite awhile with proper tungsten size for your needed amps. The tungsten will still ball up slightly, but not as much. Its best to use a 2% ceriated, 2% lanthanated, e3, or one of the newer blended electrodes. They are much more stable than pure.

#1 Buy yourself a water cooled TIG TORCH. especially if ya welding 3/8 or thicker! Save you time and headaches! Just my opinion as a life time welder.
@jessemccollum4 жыл бұрын
For sure, I think the closer you get to 200 amps, the higher the need for a water cooler, especially to weld for any kind of duration

2:24 if you react quick enough you can sling the hot aluminum off the tip the tungsten. Sometimes you can get back to welding, but at the least it will be an easier cleanup.
