I started welding after seeing Jody's first videos. I now have 4 welders past 6 years. He inspired many.

I got overconfident (See the Dunning-Kruger Effect) and offered to do a repair job for my neighbor that needed me to attach the edge of some thin perforated sheet steel to the side of some heavy wall square tubing in a T joint. I could NOT get enough heat on the tubing to even start a puddle without eating up the thin perf sheet. Silicon bronze saved my day, it did. I only had some on hand because I saw one of your videos like this one and decided I should stock that filler. Thanks for saving my reputation!

SB is a lifesaver on old car restoration. Plenty strong for sheetmetal repair, keeps heat way down and shaves off with a Vixen file so not a lot of aggresive grinding which generates heat. Usually final dress with a flat file gets it zeroed in.

Got to love the Heat-Affected-Zone comparison at 7:31! This is of course what we're expecting, but it's good to see it. I've done this process now on some little coupons and it worked fine, haven't actually made anything with it yet. This sixteen gauge square tubing (and sheet) is a big issue locally.

Amazing, you sir have talent and an ability to teach. Thank you. I'm just getting back into this after almost 30 years away from any Tig Torch. A lot has changed for me and the tech now is a lot to take in. Just bought a new Miller 215, it does not have all the fancy pulse control etc but I'm sure it will do fine for my current needs. I have a 69 Mustang waiting for my skills to build....watch one of your vids....go practice...watch it again... go practice and repeat as necessary.

Hello Sir. thank you very much for all your good advice. I love welding and welding machines. I have a question. How do you deal with breathing while welding? I don't mean the filtration and or clean air intakes......etc. I mean the rhythm of breathing. I find I'm holding my breath and then I slowly Miss up as I start breathing. And if I'm not holding my breath my hand move too much. It's like when you shoot a gun you have to hold your breath when you're aiming I guess

But if you use clamping is it necessary to worry about the pull? I worked in my apprenticeship mostly with MIG MAG and use 30x30mm square tube with 2,5 or 3mm thick wall. What grinding disc do you used in this video? Why do you use the pulsing for bras and what does it mean when it puls? How can it be described? Something like the tacking operation?
