I love the fact all your instructional videos are just clear and concise and perfectly commentated with nothing but the essential info. And no irritating stock library music in the background. Thank you!

I just bought a second hand Tiger 800 xca from 2016. Thx to your videos i think can do most of the maintenance myself. All the basics looks very doable. The rest like spark plugs, valve check, air filter and tyre change i will go to the dealer 😊 Thx for the content!

I also did plugs and air filter thanks to Muddy videos, no problem at all, just make sure your gas tank is almost empty for easier handling. Valve check is just one job I'm too chicken to do myself :)

Hello Sir, I start mantainence whit your video. Really thank you. There are ~50 ml inside the rear's tube (no tank) brake and ~100 ml in front, is right for you? I use this procedure: REAR: clean the rear tank, fill up, aspire from the valve all the liquid inside the tank and refill again. FRONT: clean the tank, fill up, aspire ~ 50 ml from the accelerator side, close. Fill some times the tank during the operation. Left side the same, and again the right side a little bit. Refill. I have used ~250ml in total. Greetings from Italy.

What bleeding kit are you using for the job? Will 12oz be enough to do the job? Thanks for the detailed video. Great job!
@MuddySump

It’s a mityvac pump. You might need a bit more fluid than that, especially if it’s ABS model. Might just be able to get away with it on nine abs model if you’re careful
@boristheblade209
@boristheblade209 9 жыл бұрын
Contemplating buying a mityvac, but you can see bubbles in the hose when you're bleeding the brake. I thought you was supposed to pump the fluid through until it ran through with no bubbles? at least thats how i was tought, when doing it the two man method of one pumping one operating the bleed nipple.
@MuddySump
@MuddySump 9 жыл бұрын
Think it's just due to the pressure it comes out at. There is no air in the system
@ronanrogers4127
@ronanrogers4127 4 жыл бұрын
When I’ve done this the traditional way by pumping the brake lever, I’ve been able to see when it’s right by first (1) clean fluid coming out, and (2) no air bubbles in the plastic hose. In this video it’s hard to see if the air bubbles have stopped...is it less important with this method? Do you just work on the assumption that if you’ve always kept the reservoir topped up, it will just draw fresh fluid through and there won’t be any air in the lines even though the vacuum seems to create some cavitation and it sometimes looks like there’s still some air? I know these are very popular and work, I just wonder about whether the procedure is so different that it makes the old approach irrelevant.

There’s bubbles in the pipe when coming out but I think that’s just the pressure it pulls it out the bleed nipple. There’s no air in the system unless you pull air through from the reservoir

Thanks for the video. Wouldn't you want to proof there is no air in the line, or is it safe enough only to assume it?

Mityvac. Think it was about £35 off ebay. You can get different models of them. Just get the cheap one, its all you need.

What size tube would I need to bleed the brakes? I bought 5mm but its tiny
@MuddySump

It’s probably around a 5 or 6mm internal diameter. A brake bleeding pump should come with pipes and adapters
