Hey Everyone! Come and join me on a Tiger Muay Thai tour of their training facilities, on-site accommodation, and Tiger Grill :-)
I have been training at Tiger Muay Thai for the past 2 weeks and have trained here in the past. It's a great facility to meet people from all around the world, get into shape, learn strength & conditioning techniques, and various martial arts!
I've time stamped the video below for easy navigation.
-----
My Instagram - @bradnewtonofficial
Robyn's Instagram - @rewbypilates
-----
00:00 - Intro
01:09 - Gear Shop tour. I will take you into the Gear Shop and show you how much their gear costs. For example, their gloves cost around 2,100 Baht (around $92 AUD).
02:11 - Tiger Grill. This is where we eat after a training session. Their food tastes amazing and it is cooked fresh. It is slightly more expensive then what you will find at other places along the street. But come and try it for yourself. Especially the protein balls and protein shakes :-) Let me know your thoughts on the protein balls!
04:13 - Intermediate Muay Thai class area. This is the only area where the Intermediate classes are taught. I've done some sessions in here. The Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes are usually held at 8 am until 10 am and 3 pm until 5 pm everyday, 6 days per week. No training on Sundays :-)
04:52 - Advanced Muay Thai class. An area that I'll probably never train in during my current life :-) These guys are awesome and I admire their stamina!
05:51 - Beginner area. This is the area where I've filmed most of my vlogs (because I'm mostly a beginner!)
07:21 - Pro Fighters area. This is the area where alot of the top guys and gals train! You'll also see younger kids train in here aswell (I was playing with Lego at their age haha)
08:21 - Fitness class/ private class area. All of the fitness classes, strength and conditioning classes, and yoga classes, are taught in this area. As you'll see in the video, they have an extensive array of equipment.
08:55 - Camp 01 accommodation. This is what the onsite accommodation looks like :-) I've filmed a separate video of their Camp 01 accommodation where I walk into one of the rooms.
10:29 - The gym.
10:45 - BBJ/MMA area.
I hope this was helpful :-) If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments below or on Instagram! (@bradnewtonofficial)
Enjoy your training adventure!

The menus at most places along the street are pretty good! Very flexible (i.e., things can be added or taken off).

I know!! That was 10 months ago and still travelling :-) Definitely returning to the Philippines... probably toward the end of the year sometime. I am still editing a ton of videos from our training trip to Thailand, then the rest of the Europe videos, then Myanmar vlogs. Robyn is working on an online Pilates training course!! So got a few projects to work on and we will definitely be back :-) Where in Phils are you based?

Their gear shop is really expensive. Their TMT rash guard is like £53 and you can get rash guard for £33 back home. I'll buy a couple of TMT rash guard and Spats but only for friends back home.

Yeah I can imagine! I've never bought from there... I've purchased all my stuff from the big market in Bangkok! Can't remember the name haha... the wraps are super cheap further down on the same street (I point it out in another video)

Hey dude thanks for the vlogs! great info great video just wanted to ask iv been reading some reviews the Hygiene is poor at TMT and people are known to catch something , is that the case? also is it true they let animals roll around on the mats etc? Ill appreciate a reply Thanks again.
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 4 жыл бұрын
I've heard but personally never encountered any issues. I've seen a few dogs run around but I've not seen them being an issue. I have seen cleaners wiping down the mats at both Tiger and Beachside. In terms of how frequently they do it, or how thorough... i cannot tell you. They seem to make a modest attempt. I'd definitely bring your own gloves/wraps etc and dettol for washing your hands post-training.

I’ll be coming beginning of next year (feb) (if covids ok) going to lamnammoon gym for the first week to stay and train (nice and quiet) then to fitness street for 2 weeks, then Bangkok for a couple days before I leave to go to lumpinee and get some tattoos .. I was going to stay at a hotel on fitness street.. would you recommend I go to various muaythai gyms day to day including tiger to mix it up get the best from everywhere or would you reccomend I stay at one or two gyms to train? Cheers mate 🇦🇺
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 3 жыл бұрын
You'll love the place. If it's your first time I recommend visiting different gyms. It will cost more money (the daily training rate is slightly more expensive than buying a monthly training package) but it will broaden your horizons. Once you find a gym & coach you really like then you'll tend to spend more time in the one location.

Also quick question, for 1 month how much money would you recommend to take out there ?? Thankyou keep the vids coming
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 5 жыл бұрын
That's tricky because i had an open budget so i can "film everything" and try everything. Are you only training at tiger? You'll probably live off $10 a day on food if you eat at Tony's ;) never get a taxi!! Hire a scooter they are dirt cheap and easy to get around... Accommodation was around $25 per night for us which you can do MUCH cheaper but needed to film the content.

Hey man :) everywhere on the street will charge around 30-40 baht per KG from memory.. less than $2. So small change will take care of that.

Hi Brad, I believe it that you'll get fit here, but that's not my goal. I want to grow in my muay thai. Did you really got better or are the classes just for fun and to get fit?
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 5 жыл бұрын
I've definitely improved since I've trained along this street, not just at Tiger... The intermediate and above classes will definitely help you in technique at Tiger but I found the one-on-one sessions invaluable (not just at Tiger, but other places aswell). When are you coming here?
@frenchiem5638

Brad Newton Vlogs I'm planning to go this June. I was thinking to do a full month at Tiger, because I want them to get to know me and about my skill level, so that way they can help me better rather than just another tourist visiting the gym. I was also planning to visit four different gyms every week for one day and do a one full day there instead of private classes. Because the private classes just seems like it's only padwork, isn't it?
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah a month minimum. It usually takes (me) a week to adjust to the heat and climate. The privates are what you want them to be... If you don't stipulate then it seems to be pure pads. If you ask, they'll give you clinching or work on weak points, sparring, etc.

@@BradNewton No, but I am preparing and watching your videos ;) I'm thinking about three months all-inclusive package at Tiger Muay Thai starting from February next year. Can you compare all-inclusive packages at TMT against finding a place to stay and eat, and booking classes on your own?
@BradNewton
@BradNewton 5 жыл бұрын
From what others have said, they'd prefer to just pay for their training and then organise their own accommodation and food off-site. Not my opinion... just from speaking from others around here. There are tons of places around fitness street / soi taied you could stay and food is dirt cheap, fresh, and within minutes walking distance from TMT. Maybe one day I'll do their all-inclusive so I can have my own opinion but that's the best I have for you :-)
