For all those that think this is funny or that the villagers are confused, that the actual tiger is the sunflower tiger. Please, for once, be serious and just don't write whatever comes to your mind because you felt like it. We live here and we know exactly what's going on, we're not fools. Stop making assumptions. We've cattles in the farm which have been attacked, we've people living in these farms looking after the farms. Remember the last time something similar happened? It was only a few years ago and because that tiger entered the village and posed a huge threat to the same villagers, they went in groups and killed it. Remember, all the condemnations and insults and words fell upon the innocent villagers. Human lives are more important than that of animals, as I mentioned earlier, don't make a joke just because you feel like it.

Sure there are tranquilizers and stuff but if no one has accessibility to it and the concerned governmental department did not provide any other means/ means of help, what else do you do? Especially, when the animal is already roaming around the village and by the courtyards/backyards and attacking your cattles and you live just a few steps away from those cattles, what do you do? You are only a piece of meat to that animal and you are next after the cattles. Human instinct is to protect ourselves first. You are bound to kill it, I will kill it, I'm not a cave man, please do not call me one. Lol Step in my shoe/our shoes and know what I've said and what the villagers have done. Come live with them/us, live besides those cattles in our farms and tell me what you'll do when you stand face to face with one. Don't be such a keyboard warrior.

First - remember it's a village surrounded by forests, second - there's no accessibility to tranquilizer and stuffs, third - there's no means of help from the concerned governmental department, fourth - the animal was already in the village attacking your cattles, fifth - you live only a few steps away from your cattles. There's a lot more I can add but I'll only state these, and now, imagine, it's attacking your cattles and you are only a piece of meat to that animal. Do you think it's not coming for you? Human instinct is to protect ourselves first, CAVEMAN or NOT. They did that, I'll do it if I'm in such a state. Please don't try to tell me otherwise. Brother, we agree with your valid points. But this time, please force the forest department to do their real job. We know the loss and risk associated with this case but we also have to think of the extinction events of these species. The forest department has to really provide all the necessities to your Village to protect themselves, assist to capture the tiger alive, and finally work on rehabilitation of the captured animal. Please don't misunderstand. We understand your plight. The last incident where the animal had to be put down wasn't the fault of the people. It was the govt that didn't do their job. Shame on the department and the people in charge of overseeing such cases.

Back then in kiphire when i was staying there, we did got amuzsed when we woke up and saw duck head without it's body . I got shocked our toilet was far away so i saw it while coming back . After seeing it's head I saw headless body of duck again I called everyone and also rent house owner came , everyone was so confusing we couldn't figure out what thing killed the more then 5 ducks into pieces.

Finally we got to see indigenous animal in our homeland after many decades , just one single tiger and it was also killed . I think the people of Nagaland should now realise the last specious of this endangered cat and inform the Forest department next time instead of killing. Even me had an experience in my village people talking about tiger living in the forest so everyone went for hunting looking luckily it was shoot by one of the hunter but surprisingly it was not a tiger though they were saying it was just a wild cat but huge one so can't really believe whether it's a real tiger or not especially elderly people we tribals talk so serious and make situation so interesting 🙂
