Sir you can never tell in a core area of jungle. A tiger is usually on the prowl at this time of the night. 8pm is late evening in cities, where we live.

It was a moaning call, probably a tigress, searching for a mate. All the more necessary to not take chances. Tigers are not in their best mood then. Please find out from locals. It is very much the mating season.( usually). Wonderful setting of the FRH, I am afraid not for people who wish to have atleast 4 star comfort even in jungles.😊

Shandaar??? I would have probably gotten a heart attack out of fear after hearing that roar, although I am a hardcore tiger lover. Itna craze hai ki mera bhai, manhoos bolta hai ki ek din tiger ke dwara hi tu duniya se vidai lega 😠 ... Lekin aakhiri ke kuch pal is video ke kick-ass they. You guys were lucky to hear the call and survive to tell the tale kyunki as you yourself mentioned, fencing actually is not a big deal for the tiger and even the current that passes through those fences.

Last mei jo call aya tha proper tiger mating call tha raat ko jab aap bhagey thai hardly 25-30 meters. Best close tiger call ever captured. Its called purring. Its a friendly call. That was very near to the fence

For information, phato is not the core of jim Corbett National park, and there are only 1 or 2 tigers here which are rarely seen in winter

For winters, yes, it's not the best that Corbett has to offer but it has bumper sightings in summers 😊

@@milechasers exactly. Last winter I visited phato and only saw a few hens, the elephants also migrate to rajaji during winters so the jungle is quite silent at that time. But at summer it is one of the best places for tiger sighting.
