TIGER ROARS at us in Phato FRH | Spending a Night in Jim Corbett Core Zone | Phato Treehouse

After our first Safari in Phato zone of Jim Corbett National Park it was time for us to enter the FRH and spend a night inside core zone of Jim Corbett. Phato FRH has a couple of rooms but the main attraction is the Phato Treehouse where we managed to book a stay.
We however had a very scary experience. While going to our treehouse in the night, a Tiger roared at us and we had to run back to the other rooms. It sounded like a warning growl and the tiger wanted us to know that he was there and we shouldn't come closer. Thankfully there was electric fencing which kept the Tiger from entering the campus.

Sir you can never tell in a core area of jungle. A tiger is usually on the prowl at this time of the night. 8pm is late evening in cities, where we live.

It was a moaning call, probably a tigress, searching for a mate. All the more necessary to not take chances. Tigers are not in their best mood then. Please find out from locals. It is very much the mating season.( usually). Wonderful setting of the FRH, I am afraid not for people who wish to have atleast 4 star comfort even in jungles.😊

Shandaar??? I would have probably gotten a heart attack out of fear after hearing that roar, although I am a hardcore tiger lover. Itna craze hai ki mera bhai, manhoos bolta hai ki ek din tiger ke dwara hi tu duniya se vidai lega 😠 ... Lekin aakhiri ke kuch pal is video ke kick-ass they. You guys were lucky to hear the call and survive to tell the tale kyunki as you yourself mentioned, fencing actually is not a big deal for the tiger and even the current that passes through those fences.

For information, phato is not the core of jim Corbett National park, and there are only 1 or 2 tigers here which are rarely seen in winter

For winters, yes, it's not the best that Corbett has to offer but it has bumper sightings in summers 😊

In Africa there are all inclusive resorts located inside the National parks, almost all of them are quite open without fencing but have armed guards who will walk you from your room to the restaurant for dinner and back to your room, they have strict 'No walking anywhere by yourself after dark' policy and for a very good reason. Don't push your luck for the content, if i was the forest officer incharge there i would personally drop you all off to the nearest town in the morning and cancel your tour. Just one incident and the tiger will have to loose it's life and the park will get a bad publicity to the point of it being shutdown.
