My grandpa was a golf fanatic. I remember playing with him as a child he would take me on the weekends. He took me to see Tiger play in the Amateurs and he said "watch this young man, he will be one of the all-time greats!" My grandpa was right. He passed away in 2008 but he got to watch Tiger win a lot of tournaments. I'm just now getting back into golf, haven't played much since my grandpa passed away but now at 39 I'm starting to get a passion for the game.

Nice to see your grandfather see Tiger win the '97 Masters. THAT was his coming -out party and the real beginning of the greatest run in golf history. No question Tiger was the best ever. The competition of today was 1000000% greater than in Jack's day.

I used to love watching in prime Tiger In WGC events.. I don’t think his record in those is admired enough.. Everyone talks about the players championship and it’s a superb tournament.. But he dominated these events and the memorial.. the toughest fields in golf and he was always up for them like they were majors. Think about the record... 18 wgc wins. 5 memorials. 2 players championships.. most players never win 26 times.. 26 of his were the most challenging available

I was just at the driving range, and its just mind blowing how formulaic he makes these swings look. Not only are the individual swings as close to perfect as you might reasonably expect to reach, but then he repeats them over and over, year in and year out. And he never messes up. Tiger is the goat

I wouldn't call him that. If he was the BOAT, then he would surpassed Sam Snead for most tour wins and surpassed Jack Nicklaus for most majors won. If you want to think about of today's generation, he is the BOAT, but in terms of the PGA all time, I would call him the GOAT.

After Arnie faded from contention I didn't watch golf with any regularity until Tiger. He was so good in his prime that he was always fascinating. And one Nicklaus era pro said that Jack was the best, but only by a little bit. Tiger was the best by a lot!

It’s weird to imagine a golfer being able to dominate a sport like the traditional sports. Lots of people can play golf really well but none of the guys out there today peak people’s interest like tiger did. It’s one thing to hit the ball like tiger did, but the way he was able to do it was just mesmerizing. Nobody could draw a crowd like tiger. I’m excited to see if his boy charlie pursues golf. Watching him play now it’s like a spitting image of tiger. It would be awesome to see him dominate and draw crowds like his dad did

Didn't know about the severity of the accident when I posted the comment above. It certainly looks bad for. his career at this point. But he was written off after his back surgeries and he's gotten one more green coat since. Maybe he won't win another major. Anybody else probably wouldn't. But remember: This is Tiger. Never say never to Tiger. He can come back when no one else can. So I won't write him off until he says he's through no matter how unlikely a complete recovery looks. His drive, his will may turn out to be unbeatable. I'll say this -- if he wants to play again, he will. How well he would play if he should try a comeback surely is open to question.

I can't believe how good this guy was in his prime. At first I thought those shots were just luck, they weren't. I also liked how he raised the bar and made other competitors really up their game. Some of those tours should have been him in a run away, but other golfers would play their heart out and still trail him pretty closely.

First, this a great Vid. Thanks for it. What is funny is that I (and probably most of you) remember seeing these shots. When Tigre is out there there are millions more watching. Keep in Mind I grew up watching Jack, Arnold, Player, Zeoller, Irwin, Seve' I mean the list can go on and these were/are the greats of Golf. But, there is something about it when Tigre is on. Come on man. Everybody has that shot in their bag. 240 all carry over water from a bunker. Love the one announcer " uh oh that could be headed right". Then the other guy 1 second later " how about right at it". Dude was just electrifying. The first person I've ever seen beat the game of golf. He mastered it.
