@@coopermckinnon5552 Jack is by far the best player ever and Tiger knows it. That is why he is only playing majors to get to Jacks record. Jack played against hall of famers to win his majors. Tiger beat ? to win his. Plus Jack had multiple runner ups. Give a young Jack todays equipment and he would be as long as DeChambeau only a far better player. Give a young Tiger the equipment that Jack used, a one iron and a driver head the size of a current utility club and Tiger would be unable to keep the ball in play.

@Blood Diamond Jack was a gentleman and family man. Still married to the same wife forever. Jack pressured Augusta to let Lee Elder be the first black at Augusta. As a family man he skipped many tournaments to raise his children properly. But he focused on the majors. He knew that is what would be the ultimate judgement. He designed many courses and designed equipment. Tiger just happened to be one half black and fans took a liking to him because he was really good. Despite that there is only one black playing on tour now. So his legacy will be his playing and his shitty family life and DUI car crash.

The only thing holding him back is pain in his right leg, other than that, he's doing very well. @Speedy rapacki you might have to ask yourself would you have made the cut at a major 15 months after a car accident that resulted in your leg from the knee down being reconstructed with screws and rods? @@flashgordon1212remember the fact that he also fractured his pelvis and suffered blood clot problems for the rest of his life. He wasn’t ever the same or completely pain free after that car accident but of course, yes his comeback was exceptional. I don’t know if we’ll see the same with Tiger but people have such massively high expectations for him to immediately make a similar comeback as hogan. His withdrawal signals the fact that he’s in a lot of pain and knows that playing on would be futile. He said at the Masters that he struggles with cold conditions now because of his leg and today was pretty cold. It cannot be seen as a foreshadowing of things to come. Additionally, we are living in a different era of golf. Comparing Hogan and Tiger is like comparing apples with oranges, they were from completely different eras of the sport and the picture of golf and the players we see today is very different from the ones we see from 1950

@@flashgordon1212 now that’s a great point. Thanks for sharing. People just poor hate onto tiger because of the mistakes he’s made as though he’s the first person to ever make them and they attack him personally. I totally agree with the fact that he’s got nothing to prove. He has said that he’s come to win but yes, given how he finished at the Masters I think he should at least give himself more of a break to let his leg continue to heal. I want to see tiger play but not in this way. Not at the cost of his health like when he played through his very visible back pain from 2014-16 despite his limited schedule. It’s not worth it. I’d rather see him happy away from the course than suffering on it because he feels like he needs to.

For Tiger I think it’s a case of optimizing the situation: on one hand he’s still recovering to some degree from his accident; on the other he’s 46. Maybe it would be better to hang it up for the remainder of the year (save personal self-paced practice) and shoot for ‘23. And the music…yeah, it’s flatus

This guy, Tiger, has suffered several unforced errors, brought on by his own actions, but his willingness to persevere and suffer the sling and arrows that the media supplies is commendable. I have more respect for Tiger now than I had before his accident. He’s earning his way back. to prominence. Quietly. Humbly…… **Do great things Tiger. It’s within you……👍

This is such an oblivious sentiment. Look at who missed the cut: Scheffler, Cantlay, Westwood, MW Lee, Berger, Wolff, … and you think Tiger deserves discredit somehow. Hint: none of these guys do; it’s a seemingly tough, major championship, and none of us have any idea what it takes to compete in that, let alone judge the players fairly.

Father time gets us all and with all his injuries the ability to score 4 rounds in a major on his right leg won't hold up.
